Tigers shock Chiefs 3-2

The Fayette County Tigers struck for three goals in the final five minutes to upset the McIntosh Chiefs, the state’s top-ranked team, 3-2 in local soccer action Friday night in Fayetteville.

Patriots, Lady Panthers win county meet

Sandy Creek and Starr’s Mill took home first place in last week’s Fayette County Track Championship meet at Starr’s Mill.

Chiefs win 2 in region

The McIntosh Chiefs won a pair of region games last week, 13-3 over Carver and 3-2 over Starr’s Mill. The Chiefs also defeated Dacula 14-4 Friday behind a strong pitching performance from Brendan Hall, who struck out nine and gave up four hits in five innings.

Krehbiel sets CCSU record

Clayton College & State University sophomore Heather Krehbiel of Peachtree City broke a school record in the 5,000-meter run Saturday at the Emory Classic in Atlanta.

CCSU golfers 15th after first day of Bobcat Invitational

The Clayton College & State University men’s golf team shot rounds of 330 and 307 Monday for 15th place after the first two rounds of the Bobcat Invitational at the Golf Club at Cuscowilla in Eatonton.
