Patriots, Lady Panthers win county meet

Sandy Creek and Starr’s Mill took home first place in last week’s Fayette County Track Championship meet at Starr’s Mill.

The Patriots won the boys crown with 179 points, ahead of Starr’s Mill (169.5), Fayette County (104.5), Our Lady of Mercy (48), McIntosh (45) and Whitewater (8).

The Lady Panthers grabbed the girls title with 174.5 points, followed by McIntosh (123), Fayette County (114), Sandy Creek (89), Our Lady of Mercy (46.5) and Whitewater (5).

Here are the winners in each individual event:

Girls

100-meter dash: Aneesha Lane, Starr’s Mill.

200-meter dash: Aneesha Lane, Starr’s Mill.

400-meter dash: Ashley Bush-Hardy, Fayette County.

800-meter run: Kursten Carr, Starr’s Mill.

1600-meter run: Emily Borsare, McIntosh.

3200-meter run: Emily Borsare, McIntosh.

100-meter hurdles: Leandre Burton, Our Lady of Mercy.

300-meter hurdles: Kristin Olson, Starr’s Mill.

4x100-meter relay: Sandy Creek.

4x200-meter relay: Fayette County.

4x400-meter relay: Fayette County.

4x800-meter relay: Starr’s Mill.

High jump: Elizabeth Hale, McIntosh.

Pole vault: Amy Gress, Starr’s Mill.

Long jump: Lydia Blackshear, Our Lady of Mercy.

Triple jump: Mellany Stanislaus, Sandy Creek.

Shot put: Jenny Norman, Starr’s Mill.

Discus throw: Simone Heath, Fayette County.
