attorneys argue today for new murder trial in Fulton
Convicted last summer of murdering his
wife Beverley in 1997, Fayette resident James Lamar Watson Jr. will
have his motion for a new trial heard in court by the same Fulton County
judge who presided over the trial.

Hartsfield
works to cut waits
Officials
at Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport and the Transportation Security
Administration (TSA) have joined forces to reduce the amount of time
travelers wait in line at the security checkpoint. Airport operations
data compiled over a three-month period shows that passengers' maximum
wait time was 20 minutes or less on 63 days between June 1 and Aug.
31, 2003.

show survives a little rain this year
Though
it rained both days of the 6th Annual Great Georgia Air Show, that didn't
stop near-record crowds from coming out to Peachtree City's Falcon Field

and sediment control workshop offered for South Fulton residents

often washes down storm drains and into rivers, lakes and streams when
it rains in your backyard, community and across the state. The Clean
Water Campaign in conjunction with Fulton County Office of Environmental
Affairs will be holding erosion and sediment control workshop for South
Fulton residents to learn what is and can be done to reduce erosion
and prevent water pollution October 9th from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at
the South Fulton Annex on 5600 Stonewall Tell Road in College Park.

attack at age 88.

house for ARC plan
Fulton
County, in cooperation with the Atlanta Regional Commission, will hold
an open house in South Fulton County to discuss the ARC's "Mobility
2030" regional transportation plan.

State
courses can educate hunters
Before heading
out to the woods this fall, hunters should make sure all of their
education and license requirements are met. There are now two easy
ways to take a hunter education course by CD-Rom or through the traditional
classroom course, according to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources,
Wildlife Resources Division.
