Race participant by design Ann Blaum has a unique perspective on this year's Peachtree City Classic. As a graphic designer by trade, she has helped design the last several logos for the annual race that takes place in October along with cart paths of the city. Ann graduated in 1983 with a degree in graphic design from the University of Georgia. She put her talents to work in the corporate world for the next several years working for design firms and agencies. In 1990 she decided to go into business for herself and began to work out of her home. She has run the Classic several times and the years when she hasn't, she could be found working as a course marshal or at the finish line. She is also a triathlete, having competed in several throughout the Southeast such as the Half Ironman in Panama City a few years ago. Ann and her husband, Paul Blaum, are the proud parents of Donna, 4, and Jack, 2. Ann has her hands full at a mother, business owner and athlete. Yet she donates her tims and talent to the Peachtree City Running Club by helping design the race logo each year and volunteering to work during the race. The colorful logo is found on the race application, posters and the ever-popular sweatshirt that each finisher receives. Every year the sweatshirts are considered a prized souvenir for those who have completed the 5K or 15K course. Applications for this year's races are available at various locations, including all libraries in Peachtree City, Newnan, Fayetteville, Brooks, Tyrone and Senoia, as well as the Peachtree City Recreation Department and most sponsors' locations. Online registration is available at www.ptcrc.com.
