Jonesboro Post Office named in honor of Cathy Congressman David Scott introduced legislation that will designate the Jonesboro, Georgia, post office as the "S. Truett Cathy Post Office Building." S. Truett Cathy is the founder, chairman, and CEO of Chick-Fil-A, Incorporated, the third-largest quick-service chicken restaurant chain in the United States based on annual sales. Truett Cathy opened his first Chick-Fil-A restaurant at Atlanta's Greenbriar Mall in 1967 which established the in-mall fast-food quick-service restaurant concept. Currently, there are more than 1,080 Chick-Fil-A restaurants in 36 states and Washington, D.C. "I am pleased to introduce this legislation to honor Truett Cathy, a devoutly religious man who has built his life and business based on hard work, humanity and biblical principles. Like many others, I am inspired by Truett Cathy and his commitment to investing in scholarships, character-building programs for kids, foster homes and other community services," Congressman Scott said."It is only appropriate that we honor this great Georgian by designating the Jonesboro, Georgia post office as the S. Truett Cathy Post Office Building." The legislation designates the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 255 North Main Street in Jonesboro, Georgia, as the "S. Truett Cathy Post Office Building."
