Panthers take third in region track

The Starr's Mill Panthers matched their female counterparts from a week earlier, finishing third in the boys' half of the Region 5-AAAAA track championships.

The Buick Scramble, celebrating its 20th season and second under the Buick banner, is scheduled to conduct a local championship at Flat Creek Golf Club in Peachtree City this Saturday.

Community sports briefs

The Soccer Centre in Fayetteville is accepting registrations for the summer indoor youth soccer leagues for Muppets (Under 6), Under 7, Under 8 and Under 10, both boys and girls. Applications will be taken for teams and individual players. These leagues are for recreational players only and will kickoff the week of June 2 and end the week of July 26. There will be no games the week of July 4.

Pledges for "Longest Day of Golf Marathon"

Young Life of Fayette County is seeking golfers with a lot of heart and stamina to play 54 holes of golf in one day during its first annual "Longest Day of Golf Marathon" May 15 at Whitewater Creek as a fundraiser for the local Christian youth organization.
