West Nile in Fulton County

Fulton County health officials confirmed earlier this month that an Atlanta man is the first in the metro Atlanta area to be infected with the mosquito-borne West Nile virus this year.

At the September 11th Service of Remembrance and Hope this past Wednesday night I shared again these thoughts with the good folks who nearly filled our sanctuary. Many commented afterwards that they were helpful. I only pray that they might be helpful again to you as you read them here.

Patriotism

I have a confession. In my mind's eye, I had surrendered to the enemy. How distasteful. How unspeakable. How unthinkable, but that's what I had done. I committed this sin in a dangerous place, in the depths of my mind. God's Word says, "as he thinketh in his heart, so is he." Proverbs 23:7.
