Tall tales bring new life to small town

Last Saturday night my family went to my home town of Colquitt, Georgia (not to be confused with Colquitt County) to see the town's Swamp Gravy production of "The Land Between Two Rivers." This year The Colquitt/Miller Arts Council celebrates ten years of Swamp Gravy that is basically a collection of local stories woven together with a poignant theme. Previous productions included themes dealing with Swamp Medicine, The Ten Commandments, and Love and Marriage.

St. Gabriel's to honor Zaworski Tuesday

The Catholic Church of St. Gabriel in Fayetteville and the Archdiocese of Atlanta will honor the Rev. Tom Zaworski during a Silver Jubilee and special Mass at St. Gabriel's, Tuesday, March 19, beginning at 7 p.m. The Mass will be celebrated by the Most Rev. John F. Donoghue, Archbishop of Atlanta.

Christian City's Friendship Place schedules Open House March 16

Friendship Place, the Alzheimer's home on Christian City's campus in Union City, will have an open house Saturday, March 16, from 1-4 p.m., to showcase recent renovations that meet the needs of the home's residents.
