Local teams head to state basketball tournaments

Sandy Creek's boys basketball team won their first region championship on Saturday night. The Patriots edged out top ranked Westlake, 83-80. Sandy Creek will now face Crisp County High School at Crisp County High School in Cordele tonight at 5:30 p.m.

The Peachtree City Packers indoor soccer team completed an undefeated season with two victories last weekend. On Friday night they avenged a previous 3-3 draw against the Metro Stars with a 10-2 win. The following day the Packers came from behind twice to claim the U-10 Boys Recreational Soccer Centre Championship with a 5-2 win against the Mutiny.
