I am outraged with the outraged expressed over President Clinton's pardon of Marc Rich for his crimes against the United States. Why am I outraged? Because the Constitution of the United States, Article 2, Section 2, gives the President the authority "to grant Reprieves and Pardons for offenses against the United States, except in cases of Impeachment."

Peachtree City's Greiner named associate director for Feed the Children International

Peachtree City resident Rev. Fr. Raymond J. Greiner has been appointed Associate Director of Advancement for the Southeast Region of Feed the Children International, it was announced recently. Fr. Greiner is the pastor of Prince of Peace Charismatic Episcopal Church, which meets at the Peachtree City Hampton Inn each Sunday at 10 a.m.

Jayne Skoog to speak at February 19 Women's Aglow Fellowship meeting

Former opera performer Jayne Skoog will be the featured speaker at this month's meeting of Women's Aglow Fellowship International, Peachtree City Chapter, Monday evening, Feb. 19, and Tuesday morning, Feb. 20. Both meetings will be held at the Calvary Temple Assembly of God, 202 Robinson Rd. in Peachtree City, next to Mowell Funeral Home.

Massey to lead ladies' Bible study group at Christ the King Feb. 20

Dr. Judy Massey of Peachtree City, current cofounder of the Society of Christ the Healer and author of three religious instruction manuals, will instruct a series of ladies Bible study classes beginning Tuesday, Feb. 20, from 10 a.m. until noon. The classes will continue weekly at the Parish House of Christ the King Charismatic Episcopal Church, 4881 Ga. Hwy. 34 East, between Peachtree City and Fayetteville.

Holy Trinity's 'Gloria' performance is Sat.

A free choral and instrumental performance of Vivaldi's "Gloria" is scheduled at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Peachtree City this Saturday, Feb. 17, at 8 p.m. The chorus is made up of choir members from various churches in the south metro area.

Peachtree City UMC schedules generation gap' seminar Feb. 25

Dr. Rick Hicks will present a seminar at Peachtree City United Methodist Church on Sunday, Feb. 25, at 6 p.m. The seminar will be based on Hicks' book, "Boomers, Xers, and Other StrangersUnderstanding the Generational Differences That Divide Us," which he coauthored with his wife, Karen.

Divorce recovery seminar planned at P'tree City UMC

A 13-week DivorceCare Recovery seminar will be held at Peachtree City United Methodist church on Thursday evenings beginning Thursday, Feb. 22, from 7-8:30 p.m. in room 300.

Pair celebrates 100th birthday

Fayetteville's Homer Lee Pair celebrated his 100th birthday on Jan, 24, 2001. He was born Jan, 24, 1901, in Atlanta, the oldest of three siblings. His parents raised their children in the Lakewood Heights area of Atlanta.

Noah's Ark Church plans gospel sing

The community is invited to a gospel singing at Noah's Ark Holiness Church in Jonesboro, Saturday, Feb. 17 at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served at 5:30 p.m., prior to the singing, and again at intermission.
