'By example' is still the best way to reach youth

In the early eighties, Pollster George Gallop surveyed American youth and discovered that they wanted to go deeper in the places of God through prayer, Bible study, and personal discipline. However, the church looked to Hollywood, MTV, and Disneyworld and asked what the youth wanted.

His House Community Church to host Gospel concert Sunday

Tim and Lauren Wienmaster, a Southern Gospel duo, will perform in concert Sunday morning, Sept. 24, at 11 a.m.at His House Community Church in Fayetteville. The church meets in the American Legion log cabin on Ga. Hwy. 85, just south of the courthouse. Pastor is Dr. Knox Herndon.

Interdenominational Bible study classes offered at PTC UM

The Peachtree City United Methodist Church will offer "Community Bible Study," an interdenominational Bible study class, beginning Thursday, Sept. 21 at 7:30 p.m.

Bethany plans revival

Bethany United Methodist Church will have revival services Sunday, Sept. 24 through Wednesday, Sept. 27 from 6:45 until 8 p.m.

Newnan Presbyterian invites local singles to join non-denominational Sunday school class

Newnan Presbyterian Church will offer a special Sunday school class for singles called "Singles on the Square," beginning Sunday, Oct. 1 at 9:45 a.m. Open to all single, divorced or widowed men and women, the nondenominational class will offer topics related to "Celebrating Singleness." Class leader is Dr. Walter Skinner from Central Baptist Church. Ages of those in the present group range from 30s to 60s.
