Jerry Schemmel is scheduled to be the guest speaker at a banquet hosted by the Fellowship of Christian Airline Personnel on Monday, March 27 at 7 p.m. at the Atlanta Airport Marriott.

'Surviving a seder' is topic of South Atlanta Hadassah group's meeting

The South Atlanta Hadassah group will present a cooking demonstration and a question and answer session on Passover and seders at its March meeting set for Tuesday, March 14 at International Culinary Concepts in Newnan. Barry Richards, owner, will have cooking demonstrations, menu ideas, and teach cooking tips and shortcuts for Passover.

Mark Johnson resumes duties at Christ the King

Father Mark Johnson of Sharpsburg recently resumed his priestly duties at Christ the King Church in Peachtree City. For the past year, Johnson has served, at the appointment of the Bishop of Georgia, as the Vicar of Church of the Good Shepherd in Milledgeville. Before his arrival, the small missions congregation was meeting Sunday afternoons in the dining room of a private residence. Under Johnson's leadership, the congregation acquired facilities in downtown Milledgeville, renovated the facilities and moved the services to Sunday mornings. He also initiated mid-week Bible studies at the church.

Cornerstone Bible will host conference for parents and teens

Gary Brown, founder and president of The Education Connection, will lead a three-session conference for parents and teens on sexuality, character and family relationships Sunday, March 19 at Cornerstone Bible Church in North Fayette County. The sessions will be at 9:45 a.m. (adults only), 10:50 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Providence UMC to offer Lenten Bible study

Providence United Methodist Church will offer a six-week Bible study course during the Lenten season. The study will be taken from Maxie Dunham's “Workbook on Spiritual Disciplines” and encourages 30 minutes of study and reflection daily to prepare for the small group meetings.

FUMC Lenten Lunch series begins today

The community is invited to join members of the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church as they enjoy fellowship, a short devotional and a light lunch each Thursday from noon until 1 p.m. beginning on Ash Wednesday, March 8. The luncheons will continue each Thursday through Maundy Thursday, April 20. The cost is $2 per person. For more information, call the church at 770-461-4313

Inman UMC launches Lenten video series

A six-part video series is being sponsored by the Discipleship Development Team at Inman United Methodist Church. The series will be held on the six Sunday afternoons of Lent in the church Fellowship Hall from 3-4:30 p.m., beginning March 12.

Flat Creek Baptist schedules annual Easter Pageant

Members of Flat Creek Baptist Church will present their annual Easter pageant, “The Life of Christ,” Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, April 14, 15 and 16 at 7:30 p.m. A matinee performance also is scheduled for Saturday, April 15.
