PTC IS PART OF METRO ATLANTA

CCB's picture

I’m so sick of listening to people bash the TDK extension. Who cares if the road is going to produce ten of thousands of cars on our roads? People have to live somewhere.

I will agree it was unfortunate when certain people in our community failed to tell the truth about the road. Those types of idiots make everyone in real estate development look bad.

Traffic will be worse, but show me someplace in metropolitan Atlanta where traffic isn’t getting worse. The same is true with crime.

Real estate developers make things better, and people don’t appreciate that until they want to move to a new home.

By location PTC is in the metro Atlanta area. The only problem is that PTC was founded as a planned city. It was set up so a person could move to PTC and know what the build out would be in the future. This is not the case anymore. People like yourself and I mean developers have taken over and now not for the better. You will never convince me that it is great for PTC to add thousands of commuter vehicles through our city as they go home to Coweta County. If I wanted to live in Norcross or Marietta then I would have done this so I could have the joy of thousand of vehicles running through our neighborhoods. I take issue with you that increasing crime has to be a fact of life with growth. Follow the planned development from 3/9/1959 and you will have a nice town with growth, not a metro Atlanta town with rampant growth. So who cares if you are tired of all the whining? Maybe it is now time for the average citizen to take developers like yourself to task to make it as difficult as possible to develop every square inch of land. If enough attack the issues then maybe a few of you guys will rethink how lovely it would be to look like the rest of metro Atlanta. You didn't say you were a developer but it appears you are with your editorial.

Ofcb doesn't have a clue. The city was planned so we will know what build out was? Get real. Guess what the original planned build out number was? It was 75,000 to 80,000.

Developers are in their line of work to make as large a profit as possible. The house you live in is the work of a developer trying to make the largest profit possible.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: While running for office, Harold Logsdon never hid his desire to pay the development authority's bad (probably illegal)loans, and he never made it a secret that TDK was his top priority, and he openly disclosed his campaign contributions from developers, land owners and the likes of Coweta's Sen. Mitch Seabaugh. Logsdon never hid his desire to build a very large development on the westside of Peachtree City.

You could say that he lied about lowering taxes, but that's about it. So where you during the big election campaign debate? Even though a small number of people voted, the majority said they liked what Logsdon had to say. All of the other candidates, Tennant, Thompson and Boswell said they liked what Logsdon had to say. So why don't you shut the heck up and let the mayor keep doing his job. And by the way, he doing a great job!

It's our life, the eco-greenies can shove it!

It may very well be the developer's plan to make the largest profit possible, but it's our mayor/council's job to protect the land use plan and prevent overgrowth that is detrimental to our citizenry. Between Mayors Lenox and Logsdon, we've been pretty much screwed in that aspect. But hey, as long as the developers are happy, that's all that really matters.

Let me steal a line from a previous blog: All of these developments depend upon a governmental decision for them to exist.

I guess we're going to find out where the heart of the government is soon enough. I've said this before, go put some houses on the sites, but add only enough to complement our community, not destroy it. The government is SUPPOSED to provide the balance.

CCB, guess what there are other people who live in PTC besides developers. Yes you are correct that the build out was expected to be 75000. That plan did not include development such as the TDK extension. Guess what....people like myself do not have to shut up to satisfy people like yourself. This is why we have council meetings and the right to participate in government. When something is not right then citizens have every right to voice their concerns and try to address problems. Like it or not developers are not our dictators. I am glad CCB cleared up the confusion. Developers are in business to make as much profit as possible. Boy are you one mental giant for realizing this one. I am glad your are happy with the mayor but I am not. I will not shut the heck up and if you believe that I am an eco-greeny then so be it. I will continue to strive for the best PTC possible with responsible growth. If you don't care for my type then maybe you can relax on your front porch and breath the fresh fumes for the morning commutes. Have a good one developer man.

ofcb do not shut up, you have as much right as everyone else to speak your mind and have an opinion. I along with many others agree with you! Longsdon is way too far up the developer's a&^%&*^$ for me and I tried to tell everyone during the election.... I imagine there are many non developers who are kicking themselves now. I can say I did not get any reply from Logsdon during his campaign until I asked how I could send him money! (not that I was going to) but I wanted to see if he would reply to my questions. But I have told you all this before, nothing new. Keep on posting ofcb, we are with you!
