If not Logsdon, who should be Mayor?

I don't know why, but my original blog is lost in space somewhere, so I'll abbreviate this one and simply ask...if you voted for Harold Logsdon (I didn't) and now regret it, who would you now vote for from the same original field of candidates?

I voted for Logsdon as my buddies said he'd look out for us and roll back taxes. I'd like to hit them with my seven iron now, except I don't want to hurt my seven iron.

2006 has been a year that Steve Brown would've come in handy. The asleep at the wheel CSX train parking lot next to Centennial probably wouldn't have happened. Logsdon is making all kinds of excuses on this TDK and the development in Coweta thing and that scares me a lot.

Brown, regardless of what you think about him, was smart and a fighter. We desperately need someone who knows the ropes who is willing to fight for us. No one on the city council, including Logsdon, has stepped up.

Dar is a nice guy, but I didn't like any of his campaign ideas and he's not an outward personality either. Hey how about Dan Tennant - just kidding.

Pandora's a developer queen and likes the high density development. I can believe Pan-do like what Logsdon is doing. And Mudcat likes old Pad-do.

Vote Republican

How many times have you stated on this fine site that Harold Logsdon lied and said "He would roll back taxes." I lost count while looking in the archives at 27.

Now you say you voted for Harold Logsdon "as my buddies said he'd look out for us and roll back taxes." Oh, your buddies said this?!?

Who is misrepresenting the truth? Who is full of political double talk?

Go get a new email address and log in a new person. You are done for in my opinion.

As for the original question, I voted for Dar Thompson as he was by far the most realistic of the candidates to include the incumbant Steve Brown. I voted for Harold Logsdon in the run off as I felt the City needed to move away from an era of disrespect. All things being said and done, I would not change either of my votes today.

Remeber, Harold Logsdon is one of five. In fact, in my personal opinion, not even the most influential of the five. Also, Council acts based upon information received from professional staff. To place all blame for bad situations or all praise for good situations on Harold Logsdon at this point in his term is very unfair. He is not that powerful, and our City charter lays it out that way. And, thankfully, he has not put himself in the middle of situations that bring all the responsiblity onto himself except by the ill-informed.

As much as I hate to say it, I'm agreeing, a little, with the precious and fluffy oodlesOpoodles. For spear road guy to blame a bunch of old has-beens at Flat Creek Golf Course for his Logsdon vote is shallow.

No one held a gun to spear road guy's head to make him vote for Logsdon and the old golf farts weren't in the voting booth with you, so just admit that you didn't do your homework which caused you to cast an uninformed vote.

Yea, you made the wrong vote, but you can't couch it with "the other boys told me to do it" excuse. Sorry, that isn't working.

As for the poodles vote for Dar Thompson, it proves that someone else is capable of making an uninformed vote. Dar was in favor or repaying the development authority corruption and the TDK deal too. Dar also wanted to impose an additional "fee" (I call it a tax) when we buy another home in the area. I would dare guess that Dar would have been worse than Logsdon.

You are a confused little dog guy. You didn't read spear guy's blog on eating crow did you?

Bragging about sticking with Logsdon sure causes me to wonder about what you want out of the city. Forget about the lying on taxes and look at the land deals, etc. That should be enough for anyone to start doubting Logsdon.

Although I really agree with you about Logsdon not being a one-man show. I think the other four are just as much to blame as the mayor.

If the PAC and the developers had wanted someone to watch out for PTC and its people, they would have had Brown elected. Since they were interested in someone who wasn't so bright, maybe, and wanted attention by rich dudes, they worked hard and donated hard for the other guy. This is so simple to understand (then and now) I don't know why the electorate chose development and ruination of a beautiful planned city unless the race card entered the scene. A shame. Even democrats here vote republican for the chance of money!

Voted for Steve...no surrrpise, I like the Gad-fly, Thought there would be a run off and would vote for Dar. I met w/ Harold and he was already a slippery politician before he were one. The ABBB vote got what they deserved...Harold was as advertised. But hey, Vote Republican if you want BUT you have more in common with the Democrats, than you may want to admit. We all have un-realized expectations of becoming one of "them".

and I don't regret it, but if I did I guess I would vote for Dar.

Dar being the most focused of all the other candidates.
Dar, the leader and example of what good business in PTC is all about.
Dar is the one with pretty blond hair - right?

No regrets, Dar as my second choice. Wonder how long we'll get to quietly sit here before the "girl" in the glass house on Spear starts bullying. Yawn.
