Steve Brown’s Picks:

Fayette County vs. Mt. Zion, Jonesboro
Fayette County will grind them up into little football sausages!

Landmark Christian @ Ringgold
Tough game for Landmark on the road, but they will prevail!

McIntosh @ Sandy Creek
We need to force feed the McIntosh players, football is the only time I approve of higher density development – Sandy Creek will take it.

Our Lady of Mercy @ Creekview
This is a good match-up – Our Lady of Mercy by a field goal.

Starr's Mill vs. Cherokee
Starr’s Mill will roll like a mighty tidal wave over Cherokee. Bring a towel and life jacket.

Whitewater @ Newnan
Whitewater’s first senior team and first regional schedule –tough opponent – but this is a “Remember the Titans” moment and I’ll take Whitewater in a knockdown, drag out fight to the end.

UGA vs. Western Kentucky
Western Kentucky will become a soiled spot on the bright green turf. What about the new Dawg quarterback? Don’t worry about it THIS week as it is no contest. Sic’em!

Georgia Tech vs. Notre Dame
Oh boy, The colligate institution that gave us Knute Rockne, George Gipp, Joe Theismann and Joe Montana will give the Rambling Wreck all they can handle. Tech has never lived down
the 1975 episode when Daniel "Rudy" Ruettiger, an undersized fourth-string transfer student, who was allowed to dress for and play in the last and only game of his college career; in the
final moments of the game, "Rudy" tackles the Georgia Tech quarterback, forcing a fumble which rolls into the end zone and is recovered for an Irish victory; Notre Dame jumps up 23 spots
in the polls for a share of the national championship. It’s the “Luck of the Irish” with Notre Dame taking the victory.

Staff members picks -
Michael Boylan - Fayette County, Sandy Creek, Landmark, Mercy, Starr's Mill, Whitewater, UGA and Notre Dame.

John Thompson - Fayette County, Sandy Creek, Landmark, Mercy, Starr's Mill, Newnan, UGA and Notre Dame.

John Munford - Fayette County, Sandy Creek, Landmark, Creekview, Starr's Mill, Whitewater, UGA and Georgia Tech.

Magic Eight Ball - Fayette County - most likely, McIntosh - outlook good, Landmark - rely on it, Mercy - don't count on it, Starr's Mill - outlook good, Whitewater - yes, UGA - yes, Tech - my reply is no.

Wasn't it Cherokee County that scored higher on SAT's than Fayette County? How about after the game, let the SMHS starters and cheerleaders play a "High Q" match to see who comes out on top.

Steve Brown couldn't just pick Notre Dame. He had to remind everyone of the Rudy Ruettiger story. Tech will win.

Most people don't know that the Rudy story is a big lie. Notre Dame had him dressing out in different jerseys throughout the season. Notre Dame used the sensational story to win people's hearts as way to reach the number one ranking without earning it.

This kind of BS is typical of Steve Brown.

I forgot all about the Rudy episode. What's the guy's name that played Rudy in the movie version? He also played the sidekick Hobbit in Lord of the Rings.

Vote Republican
