Great Day in the Morning!

While I know that we must all stay up-to-date, and aware of the happenings in our city, county, country world; I am sooooo weary of bad and sad news. I do understand the necessity of knowing what is going on but durn!

How about some good news? Can we start a good news blog or column or something? There must be good kids, teachers, parents, general populace. Rather than all the gloom and doom and going to hell in a handbasket, can we report/blog some good news? Really don’t care if story is about wife not burning toast or turning your underwear pink; or if hubby actually acomplished honey-do list; kids rode down cart path sober; went to the Avenue and didn’t see an incident; really don’t care, just a break! Am I the only one weary of bad news?

Hey, the bad news on the front page of today's newspaper is due to the citizens not becoming actively engaged and protecting their quality of life.

I can't wait to see good news like having a 90 percent voter turnout for an election or citizens showing up to council and commission meetings questioning the merits and motivations behind various projects.

Every day you are alive is a great day, but it improves if you decide to participate in the process.

Let's make a Rave section a permanent addition. So we can find it easily every week.
I think we really need it. Some weeks it has gotten so bad here that reading the New York Times doesn't raise my bloodpressure as much as this paper.

Also thanks for adding Fayette County arrests online.

I want to acknowledge an awesome teacher at Fayetteville Intermediate.... Ms. Valerie Warr. My child has done a complete 180 in Ms. Warr's class compared to his behavior and grades last year. She is exceptionally kind and caring with her students AND their parents! Last week I received a call from her...she just wanted to say how nice it is having my child in her class. She restored my hope and faith in Fayette County schools.

Something positive, how refreshing!

Can some of us please work towards getting a good news thing going somewhere some how! Thanks y'all, I was thinking it was just me, glad to see some agree with my thoughts, please let me know how we get it into ongoing action.

In the Seattle Times they have a Rant/Rave section. Maybe we can steal the Rave idea from them.

It would be great to hear stories about all of the good people we have here.
You are right we get too caught up in the negatives to remember our blessings.

Ditto's on the great idea comment by Sky. Have a link where all the posts highlight the good things going on around us. Less any snide remarks. Those can be left in the bad and ugly section which we already have in place. No modifications needed. We have the regular blogs as the "Bad" and Free Shots will suffice as the "Ugly".
