Logsdon: It's The Developers, Not The City

Article: County critical of annexation plans

AJC, August 17, 2006

The flurry of annexation requests doesn't mean Peachtree City, Fayette's most populous city with 36,000 residents, is looking to grow, Logsdon said. Property owners are initiating the annexation bids, not the city, he said.

"We're not going on an expansion effort at all," Logsdon said. "We're not out looking to make this a huge city."

To NOT initiate something doesn't mean you aren't waiting for the paperwork! I don't see any statement that we, the city, will NOT approve it. Have you?

Well, does he not have any power or just a lack of motivation? Do you think he has any interest in KEEPING PTC the county's most popular city? Actions have always spoke louder that words!!!! Lack of action carries a strong message also.

I’ve not yet made up my mind about the proposed annexation. However, I do see that there are a LOT of people that have a LOT of questions about it.

I would like to see a special city council meeting called so that questions and answers could be exchanged.

If several of us were to contact city hall and request such a meeting, I’m sure we could get a better understanding about all of this.

If we don’t get a meeting, then we get our answers just the same.

I'm sorry bad_ptc but one builder putting up 881 homes on 458 acres with 335 townhomes and the other developer wanting to build 752 single family homes on a 400-acre parcel, that's blatant greed at our expense.

Spear Road Guy was right. The land plan would call for estate residential aoning on that land. McDonoughDawg is always hyping the Peachtree City planned city argument except when it comes to the westside, then it's let it rip. That's not Peachtree City.

Other than what I’ve seen posted here in the blog I have no reason to believe that the City Council has heard, from we citizens, our concerns.

My choice would be to have our collective opinions recorded as a “matter of record”.

Posts in the Citizen’s blog section don’t usually show up in the City Council meeting minuets.

To my knowledge, limited as it is, there has been no “formal” objection to this issue.
