The Youth of Peachtree City...

This is a telling quote from the AJC.

"I think it's ridiculous to pay $50 to get a parking spot," said McIntosh sophomore Kiana Aguilar, who parks on Petrol Point. She pointed toward the Gables Court apartments on Stevens Entry. "I'll probably go park in that neighborhood down there."

Why do we even bother having rules?

Whatever happened to the school bus?

PTC residents are whiners.

Many years ago the kids at both (only two them) high schools parked free. Spaces were available and there was no need to charge for parking. It was on a first come, first parked basis.

Then one fine day three cars were stolen from the Fayette High parking lot. Parents were incensed and demanded that “their babies” cars be protected. As a result a parking attendant was hired, and a charge to park was instituted to pay this new salary. The charges to students were more than enough to offset the cost of the new employee. Enough profit was realized that this became an easy fund raiser for school administrators.

As more students wanted to park the kids provided their own supply demand example and the prices continued to rise. As schools enlarged, parking spaces were lost and the price to park also rose.

The school bus is the solution. Let the seniors park and rest can ride “old yeller.”

Let her park there, and see how fast they tow her little golf cart. That is private property, and they have signs that say they will tow illegal parked cars. I'm sure that includes golf carts.

My grandson goes to McIntosh. He uses a golf cart. He does a lot of chores for the people in his community for spending money. We think it is good to have him earn money rather than just hand it to him. It's worked well. He's very responsible and a very good student. He paid for his own parking permit.

And watch his future success multiplied because of your lessons and the examples you have challenged him with.

If you can't afford 50 bucks a year for parking you had too many kids.
Why is it such a burden for parents here to be parents?

These childrens parents PAID for the school. They PAID for the Property. They PAID for the parking lot. The school wants students to pay to use what they paid to build. What lesson are you really teaching?

Those parents didn't pay for much, they got a tax wright off for breeding like rabbits. The fee pays for the security guard in the parking lot becaue these little "angels" can't be trusted.

Kiana is showing great initiative and problem-solving skills. And talking openly to newspaper reporters is always good. A future in politics, maybe. Our students really learn a lot in school.

She may not know that her parent's golf cart has a big number on the side that can be traced to their Prestwick or Shadowlake address with one phone call. I would hope the first words she hears when she comes home tonight are "You're grounded!" Possible, bu unlikely.

Just for the record...if Kiana lives in Prestwick, she should go to Starr's Mill, not McIntosh.
