How we feel

Harvey is right, the guys in the drug task force have been keeping up with the blogs for quite some time now and it amazes me that we do the job we do only to come here and find such criticism. That’s why I would like to personally thank those who show their appreciation through their comments here. We work to serve you the public, not for money but for your appreciation only. We ask nothing else of you. We work countless hours hoping to provide a safe environment for your children and ours.
For those who think the job we do is easy, allow me to enlighten you. The drug task force left our families and started our work day Wednesday morning at 9 am we did not return to our families until Friday evening at about 9 pm. During this time we executed several search warrants and arrest warrants on a major drug trafficking organization in the Atlanta area. We seized record amounts of cocaine and methamphetamine only to end our tour of duty in a gun battle in Gwinnett co. and the investigation that followed. For those who question our agenda let me assure you that you are living a dream if you think that at least a portion of the drugs seized would not find their way to our beloved Fayette co. Drugs in Fayette have to originate somewhere right. Secondly a drug seizure of this size often drives the price of the drugs on the street up making it more difficult for our local users to afford. And third, make no mistake we take Fayette investigations very seriously and we pursue them with the same tenacity as any other investigation. I find it amazing that we give up our families and put our lives on the line only to see people come here and critique us from the safety of their homes. Look, we do not claim to be heroes, Friday was a very tense and scary day for us and we are all dealing with the life we took. Bad guy or not, we didn’t want it to end that way. All we ask is that you recognize what we do and maybe find it in your heart to give us a simple thank you. I don’t think that is asking too much.
For those who do thank us, we thank you back and will continue serving you to the best of our ability.

I want to again say "Thank You" (it can never be said enough) for all you do. I make sure to say a prayer for our law enforcement men and women every day. I DO see you as heroes. Not just anybody can do your job. God Bless you all.

Thanks for the great job you guys are doing. I appreciate your protection and your agressive efforts in reigning in the bad guys. Too bad our judicial system and politicians aren't as diligent as you guys are.

Keep it up and please protect our freedoms in your law enforcement efforts.

Signed, A grateful and huge fan

I don't even have to say "Keep up the good work" because I know you will. Law enforcement/public safety in our county (and it's cities) are severely under-appreciated, while also being under-staffed, over-worked, and under-paid. So any time I can, I'll make sure to post props for y'all. Thank you for all you do for us.

Most of us are very grateful for everything you guys do. I know one person who works for the sheriff's dept. I know that you all put in long, long, long hours. We need more deputies if we are going to keep up with all of the developement here. Those of us who saw the news on TV know what a big drug bust this was.
I am thankful that I will not have to support that suspect in jail. ( he was a waste of the clean air the rest of us need) I am even more thankful that none of you were hurt.
