Political Losers And Their Lingering Campaign Signs

I have a pet peeve about both winners and losers in these political races that fail to go around and gather their signs. Especially the local races.

For this year, everyone has done a fairly good job with one obvious exception.... Linda Wells.

I still see her signs everywhere in public right- of-ways and back off the roads. She lives in Fayetteville, and surely she and her husband could spend some time and gather these up.

She really needs to be publicly chastised for this failure to clean up her mess.

I personally saw Logsdon gathering his signs the day after the election some time back. I stopped to thank him simply because I had never seen that before.

Interesting to me that the Marshall's and other code enforcement officers are so quick to remove yard sale and real estate signs that are in the wrong places or not up to code. And yet campaign signs that are left beyond the time limit are ignored.

They don't feel removing such a sign is worth loosing their jobs over.

They will remove a political sign if it is Eric Maxwell's, again fearful of job...A relator buddy of mine was picking up some of his signs at the Marshals office and saw a pile of Maxwell's I guess they were policing for Dunn..Dunn is out thank God...

the signs that still litter the county. It is interesting that when I drive through your fine county (in which some of my family lives in) that political signs of ALL candidates still litter the roadways. It is my understanding that the candidates for office are responsible for removing THEIR signs from the rights-of-way, not city or county employees being paid by the TAXPAYERS to perform other duties to remove the signs. Even common, everyday, citizens such as yourself, and me, can stop our BMW's, Volvo's, Mercedes', and SUV's, and remove them and place those signs in their proper place...the landfill.

Hey, it was easy for Steve Brown to clear his, the opposition kept stealing them. You know, that's dirty, no matter what your political affiliation. What does stealing political signs say about a candidate?

I've had people tell me the Logsdon crew didn't steal all of Brown's signs. Many think it was Dan Tennant.
