I'd have Homeland Security called out on me in a heart beat with that contraption. Gosh...I was thinking of something that would fit in my pocket or something. Can you see me rolling down my window and pointing that thing at some low riding Impala that's thumping about. Would I have to wear an aluminum foil hat to operate that?

Perhaps I could mount it on my roof and as I'm driving up the road I could hone it in on the offender and blast em with my electromatic pulse generator thus blowing up their electronics and rendering the vehicle incapacitated.

Would that be agains the law?

Bose and several others make noise canceling headphones but they only work at certain frequencies and they only reduce, not limit the noise.

A white noise generator would have to be set fairly loudly to maks a thumping car stereo, and that would also block traffic sounds as well as being irritating.

Your own stereo turned up loud could probably block a lot without being as irritating, but the goal is to create peace and quiet.

Maybe Yoga is the only real way out (Yoga = learn to live with/ like / ignore it), although having a button which would quiet the offender without them understanding why sure would be loads of fun.

I agree you would not want it on all the time.

I thought PTC did have a noise ordinance, or maybe it just rolls under the nuisance complaints. I guess it is all the same. I wonder how much the fine is? Here I was trying to be sooooo thoughtful of my bankrupt neighbors and their illegal fireworks and "drunk squirrel shooter man" too. Go figure, come to find out I don't have to be thoughtful at all?!

I thought of an under the hood air horn that might over power his noise. Figured I'd be the one getting the ticket. I'm not sure the sign idea would would work. One has to be able to read to understand the intended message.

With the airhorn, besides you also getting a ticket, the offender may not even be able to hear it inside that self-propelled boom-box.

If the end goal is to get one individual at a light to quiet it down, then some sort of communication will be the easiest. I think everyone reacts differently and you may have no chance or the guy may not have realized he was being irritating and apologize.

How often does this happen?
Is it often the same individual?
Is it always near the same time of day?

Obviously you don't commute through Fayetteville and Riverdale. The last thing I'm going to do is tap on some thug's window and say... "Excuse me sir. May I ask that you please turn down the volume of your music? You're bothering the other drivers within 100 yards of your POS car and the volume of your base is about to kill the old lady driving in front of you whose hearing aid just exploded and blew her ear off". I'm sure they would sit up in their seats and apologize for being inconsiderate and promise not to do it again.

Nope...I need a high tech equalizer. It's safer for me in the long run and I won't get popped with the guys stolen 9mm. That a way I can anonymously flip the switch and chuckle as they cuss their system. You know...kind of like getting your digs in like everyone does on this site.
