WHITEWATER HIGH SCHOOL

It seems to me some of the comments are not from a loving, caring parent. My son is in this school, and I am very thankful for the staff and police for the great job and the quickness in which the matter was handled. So THANK YOU to everyone who is involved in foiling of the plot. It does not matter what he could or could not have done. He had these things in his car for a reason. To the person who told, I am very grateful to you. I hope there are more people like you. I will make sure I tell my son, to be brave like you and stand up for everyone and let someone know if he hears about something like this. Who ever you are there is someone in this world, besides you parents, that is very proud of you.

Thank you

I have a son who also attends WHS. What ticks me off the most about this whole situation is the fact that the parents didn't lock the guns up. Not just for their son's safety, but other teenagers that were in their home. And, I honestly don't give a rats a**, if the kid was a straight A student, and a "nice guy". He abviously has issues, I don't believe for one second that the weapons were in his car, "in case of a Columbine incident", the kid should be expelled from school, not be allowed the first affender law, spend a large amount of time in jail, get therapy, and also not be allowed to go to college. The people defending him, say he has a great future in front of him and he just nade a mistake. Well, people in denial: he no longer has a great future in front of him, and he made a HUGE mistake. I don't know the kid personally, he may be a good kid, but, in Fayette County we have a zero tolerance law. He deserves way more than a slap on the wrist and just probation. He had every intention of doing something with those weapons, maybe not that day, maybe he was waiting for someone to bully him (just one more time) and then he would have taken matters into his own hands. The way the world is today, teenagers in schools, they can be hateful and pick on people if their strange, or different. But, by no means do you have to go and shoot them. My daughter was in 6th grade last year, and she was being picked on, talked about, and all sorts of things that were just plain hateful. Not for one second did she think of treating them badly, and I know she would never have thought about shooting them (we don't own a gun). She came to me & talked to me about how it made her feel, I went with her to talk with her teachers & the counselor. That worked, now all the girls that were picking on her last year are all friends with her this year. Enough about that, all I really wanted to say, is that I think he should be tried as an adult & get a severe sentence, not just a slap on the wrist.

And can we get another amen?

To be sure, the officials involved were doing their job, well or not may be debated but at least we have one parent willing to make sure their kids understand what to do when the nicest kid in the school is heavily armed.

And the best point made here:
Thank you to the anonomys tip giver!!!
