The Fayette Democratic Women will host Mike McGraw, candidate for US Congress in the third Congressional district (formerly the eighth district), on Saturday, Aug. 12. The breakfast meeting will be held at Blue Moon Farm, the home of Dr. Richard and Judith Moore, in Fairburn (Fayette County), starting at 9:20 a.m.

McGraw has built a successful business headquartered in Newnan. He and his wife, Renee Mansour McGraw, have raised three children, volunteered to make a difference in the lives of handicapped children, and worked for the betterment of their community. The McGraw family attends St. George Catholic Church in Newnan.
McGraw has served for 27 years as a volunteer with local Special Olympics and, in 1992, was honored as Special Olympics Grassroots Volunteer of the Year.

After his years at West Georgia College, McGraw joined Delta Airlines as a ground traffic controller and coordinator of video training programs. He was later the director of marketing for Gammons Industries of Newnan. Gathering the skills learned in both positions, McGraw founded Tneve, Inc., a company that plans and produces multi-million dollar events for trade shows, sales meetings, publicity tours and billion dollar mergers. His client list includes many Fortune 500 companies, including Microsoft, IBM, Georgia Pacific, and Coca Cola. In addition, he is marketing consultant for Georgia companies.

McGraw, 47, has earned a reputation for his ability to tackle diverse problems with a can-do attitude and a proven record of success. He wants to take that energy, experience and determination to Capitol Hill where he will work for the best interests of Georgia’s Third Congressional District and for America.

McGraw will face incumbent challenger, Lynn Westmoreland, in November’s general election.
McGraw will speak to the group about his plans to secure US borders, protect American liberties, and secure a bright future for all Americans. He will answer questions from the group.

I have not voted for a Democrat since U.S. Senator Sam Nunn (probably one of the most conservative senators at the time). However, Rep. Lynn Westmoreland is like a sore on the rear that just won't go away. He is totally ineffective.

I'm angered that we send the likes of Westmoreland to Congress. We as Republicans have no one to blame but ourselves for not bringing a better candidate to the table.

I know nothing about Mr. McGraw, but I might be forced to vote for him as a protest vote. I "McKinney-type" gesture.

Vote Republican

Wastemoreland angers me too. He is so selfserving and shallow it is cheap. Drops out of college and touts it as " I completed two years of college." Does these silly mailouts that are all about voter ID at our expense and they don't even proof read them ! Misspelled words; bad grammar. That education coming through there fella. Get used to Lynn, though, because he will be your next governor. The Ten Commandments thing--- what a "Do-nothinger" embarassment. Tell you the truth, glad to have Dunn off the Commission but I will vote for him before Wastemoreland.

Even if he walks on water and cures cancer, the "informed" voters will reject him.
