I was reading the other paper in PTC and I found some very interesting comments from one of our elected officals during the city council meeting Thursday. It seems that Mr. Boone was against any new police officers being put in next years budget. I asked myself with all the crime that is going on in both PTC and Fayette County, how could he not want to increase the police department manpower. I did some checking and found out that our police department is grossly understaffed. As far as I could see the PTC police department has the lowest number of police officers per thousand then any other city in the State of Georgia and this has been the standard for the 8 years I have lived here. Well we are now seeing the crime that we thought we would never see, and low crime was the main reasons I moved my family here. And that don't take into account that we have a large cart path system that runs behind just about every house in the city, and no other city in the USA has that.

According to the paper the Mayor and the other council members voted to add 4 new officers expect Mr. Boone who want the money to be put back in the budget and NO officers hired. I said to myself, what could be the reason that he could be so against having more police officers when any fool can see we need them not just now, but for many years past when we were more interested in building ball fields. So I started to make some phone calls around the city to people that might know his reason or motive. What I found was very interesting.

It seems that Mr. Boone has not been open to the public both during his run for office or his reasons for not wanting new police officers. I was told that Mr. Boone has other motives for his vote. I have been reading the blogs about officals drinking around town at different bars and it looks like Mr. Boone is noted for that. Could he be worried about suffering the same fate as his drinking buddy the city manager? I was told that just about every bartender in the city knows him by first name. But if a city offical wishes to drink in public and then drive his car, well that is his business and one day he just might find himself in jail.

The second reason is one that gives me great concern and it should give the citizens of our city great concern also. I was told that if someone would do and open record with the clerk of court and ask for the last name BOONE with his address, you would find the real reasons why he does not want more police officers. When some citizen takes the time to find that out, then it will be time to recall Mr. Boone for using his elected office to get even with the police and putting all the other citizens in harms way. Think it is not true, well then do the open records. I was told that it deals with numerous incidents, both criminal and other things.

If in fact he is voting on public safety issues with this in his background, he need to resign his office, or be recalled. In fact, he sould never vote on issue that deals with police or public safety. I was also told that at this time a police officer is geting ready to file a law suit against Mr. Boone for his slanderous comments he made in a public place while drinking. In addition, it seems Mr. Boones close friends, who have criminals for children, are also part of his reason. I was told that there is one friend and neighbor that has a whole house full of criminal children, and that he pushes Mr. Boones buttons all the time. I was given a name but I will wait for later to disclose it as I wish to check out what I was told first. Myabe I can give you another name to do a open recors for both in PTC and Coweta County.

For any elected offical to put himself before the public welfare of this city, is the most serious breach of public trust. I am a tax payer and I feel it is my duty to bring these issues to the general public. Maybe everyone else is afraid to say anything but this guy is out of control and your safety is at stake. Thank God we have other elected officals that know the public needs to be protected.

Think I am a some sort of nut, or trying to get even with Mr. Boone, well I am just a citiizen like you trying to make sure my city is safe for my children. I think when the truth comes out about Mr. Boone, you will see that what I have said here is the truth. I am shocked that I have found this out and never thought any elected offical could do this. Hey Boone if you hate the police becuase you have criminals in your life, don't put the citizens at risk. I was also told that he told close friends, (some not so close because they told me) that when he was elected he would take care of the police. WOW can you believe that anyone would say that who is being elected to protect them from crime.

Do the right thing BOONE and resign now before the public really finds out who you are and what you stand for.

How many years can PTC stand for huge budget increases and tax increases every year, in spite of hundreds of tickets written for nothing nearly nothing? Put what people we have to work on the street instead of paperwork. Let the colonels and majors and etc., do the paperwork, give them something to be responsible for. They are beginning to look like the US department of agriculture mess, little gets done except promotions and re-organizing.

These are very serious allegations. Yet it sounds like YOU haven't even done the research to back it up. You said that you "were told" that if one did an open records request on the name Boone lots of bad stuff would come up. You don't know what the heck would come up or who it would involve. You were just "told" it would look bad . . . and then you've got the balls to repeat the rumour here! Oh I forgot, this website is anonymous--no balls required.

Then you have the audacity to say, "When some citizen takes the time to find that out [do the open records request on Boone], then it will be time to recall Mr. Boone . . . " You took the time to write this nonsense, but you don't have the time to do the open records request you're telling someone else to do? My God if this is true about Boone, he needs to be shown the door NOW. How can we allow an elected council person try to hinder law enforcement when it is directly related to his past or someone related to him. It appears the "recallboonenow" has done some home work on this guy. I am going to check around also to see if all that was said is true. I remember in the election he came from no where to beat Rapson. I was told that Rapson was defeated because he was to close to Brown. No one really knew anything about Boone and maybe we made a terrible mistake when we elected him without knowing what he stood for. I did see him in a debate but he sounded kind of stupid to me without any real facts on the tip of his tongue and you could see that he might like to drink a little.

Ok what we have here is the same thing Nixon did when he was President. He is using his office to get even for some reason. By doing this he put the welfare of me and my family, and you and your family at risk. I want to know more about a pending law suit that was talked about. I want to know more about any arrests that may have taken place, and if any of it is true, I will be knocking on your door to recall him.

So Boone if you are smart enough to read this and it is true what is being said, resign before you are recalled. Law and Order in PTC is the most important thing when it comes to our schools and our property values. You will not be the one that puts them in danger from your misguided judgement.

Even if Boones mother was convicted of bank robbery, I doubt you would have grounds for a recall.

I would imagine that one would have to be able to prove that Boone had deliberately caused a decline in public safety, or in some fashion, impeded law enforcement from carrying our their lawful duties.

I would be willing to bet that not voting for the additional funding to hire new police officers would not qualify as grounds for anything.

I lived in Clayton County and am prepped with pepper spray when I am out and a 22 at home..I have already had to use the 22 on a crazy peeping tom in our neighborhood, just scared him not direct shot but if he came on my deck he would be taking buck shot out of his ****.(I am pretty sure without the rifle he would still be bothering us) This guy threatened neighbors...
