fayette co school witch hunt 2006

For all you inquiring minds...
Hello I'm Jennifer Lorello
Proud mother of Tara and Vince Lorello
Vince graduated from Booth with a low B avg. Most teachers would tell you he's a sweet boy. He never ditch school, he was just sick a lot this year and we had a death in the family. He will attend Mac this yr,
I've been married to my husband for 23yrs this OCT. He is home every night. We do not drink other than a few times a year. I've work both full, part and not at all thru out my kids lives. We do not live in an apt. we live in a cluster home worth about 325,000 in PTC I have live in other neighborhoods in PTC and Atlanta from 600,000 to only 100,000.my husband and I grew up in Naperville IL (# 3 best place to live.) I keep close Tabs on my children and their friends. I volunteer at their schools and have hosted an exchange student and taken in a young adult who needed a hand up. I've been a Girl scoutleader,Team mom (several times) Helped at PTCFD with the explorers, Work on a Hab. for Human. homes. Feed the homeless. Helped out at church.
My brother is the AM DJ on 99X. And I let my kids go to concerts.(oh no!)I use to go too.
What else would you like to spectuate about me?
I'm embarrassed of this paper. I will not even send it to my out of state clients. Fayette Co. is a nice place to live but all you busy-bodies need to find a cause to work for. People read this paper and think Fayette Co is nothing but a buch of small minded nuts. Take that energy and pick up the trash, build a teen center help out the elderly. Find some one who is sick or a new or single mom and bring over dinner. Write and brag on a great teacher, coach, scout leader or kid to the paper. Make this a place to be proud of. Not only will it look nicer but it will truly be a great place to live where people care and take care of each other after all isn't that what a community is surpose to be.

young people need to be encouraged!

As for Ms coffey, my prayers are with you and your son. "This too shall pass" And if you need someone who won't judge you to talk to you can reach me thru metrobrokers. There IS some reason this child dose not want to be in school or is rebelling.

I hope in the end the school was just trying to do their job and this was a big lack of communication and poor judgement on the papers part.

So if you wish, make me a scarlet magnet to wear on my mini van that says I'm a bad parent, my son dosen't turn in notes. Funny thats the reason we kept him in IEP.

Papers will print the best story, not the whole story. Not everyone reads it, and takes it at face value. I am glad that they did not take you to jail. Even if there wasn't a death or your child wasn't sick, and he had some issues, because kids go through different phases in life, I don't think that they should treat you that way. It's a shame. People are just frustrated that some parents don't care about their children, and because this is a big issue now, I see this as political. Also, you shouldn't have to put your private business into the public because of silly stuff like this. I wouldn't have cared if you lived in an apartment, worked at a fast food joint, and were a single parent. NO ONE desearves this type of treatment, if they are making an honest effort to do the right thing. I don't think that the people in Fayette county are nuts, and I never viewed them that way by reading this. I just see frustration. I hope that your son is okay after all of this mess!! I am sure all of the publicity only made it worse for him. Good luck out there, and stay encouraged!!!

I happen to know the Lorello family, and Jen is a great mom!!! When I first saw the newspaper article, I was surprised. Now that I know it was a citation, and not an arrest, I also understand why they only cited one parent. Although, in this case, they shouldn't have. The school should have used more common sense. Of course, that something our school's tend to lack in this day of more rules and regulation, and the ridiculous "zero-tolerance" policies.

Mom to 3, plus a few strays
