Are we protected?

I stopped a local fire station this week and learned that there was only one fireman on duty. I assume that this may be well known, but it seems like a real problem to me. I guess they need more money for more staff?

Gcat,

When I was a Volunteer in PTC a few years ago, each station was manned by three Firefighters that were also EMT or Paramedic qualified. Usually 2 were manning the ambulance for medical calls and the third drove the engine.

Maybe the ambulance was on a call or at Station 81 for combined training. The medic units would have been monitoring radio traffic and responded to a call.

PTC used to dispatch 2 stations to fire calls. A primary and back up engine and the medic units for manpower. Same with Motor vehicle accidents.

Could PTC use more full time Firefighters, sure. The only question is what price the tax payers are willing to spend.

The only protection that might work is a condom.

Condoms can slip off or break but, more or less, you are protected.
