Let's hope Dunn campaigns for Wells and Cal endorses her again - that should just about do it. Go Jack!!!!

I would like to think we would have at least one die hard for our current land use plan on board.

Submitted by tonto707 on Wed, 07/19/2006 - 4:55pm.

is no diehard for the county land use plan, she is a big fan of Linda Wells, and has come to be known as Commissioner "NO"!

No to seniors, no to improved safety, no to beefing up drug enforcements, no, no, NO, NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Given we have all the players you want in place and succeeded with "it's time for a change" campaign - what great changes and expectations do you see for the future of this county?

Lower taxes - higher salary for the county workers and bonus for the management staff - settle workman compensation costs to avoid attorney fees - maybe purchase a second or third helicopter ?

who is your selection for chairman? Peter - Frady - Horgan?

Would you agree to fund a county employee pension program with the taxpayers money that would make the taxpayers liable for years into the future?

Would the sheriff office - be off limits to any type of review or inquiries?

Just thinking out loud - I understand you like YES people - I think we need a few around to question the motives and look out for my tax dollars.

HARRASSMENT. One of the many things revealed in the expensive court proceedings is that the Sheriff was being exposed to inventories once a month. Finance employees would show up and demand to count cars, guns etc.

When the finance employees were asked in court how many times they had inventoried the Marshal's guns. The answer was never. How many times had they inventoried the fire trucks? Never.
Yet uniformed deputies were being called in from the road an a frequent basis to check their mileage by finance employees. Demeaning to say the least.

If the true intent was accountability then why was the Sheriff's the only department being held accountable? And why did it only begin after he purchased a helicopter?

It was an old military ploy. Harrass your enemies or rivals by overloading them with paperwork. The difference in an army officer doing that to people he doesn't like and a County Commissioner? One day the people can hold the commissioner accountable. Dunn the other day. Wells and Pfiefer another day.

I expect we will save a few hundred thousand dollars in attorney fees right away, starting January 1, 2007. Possibly an in house attorney and fees for an outside attorney when and if necessary.

Lower taxes? Dunn attempted to take credit for "holding down taxes" by not increasing the millage rate while never explaining that the escalating values produced all the tax revenues needed.

If you compare taxes in Fayette County to similar counties you will find that level and quality of services have a link to the value of the properties and the millage rates

Peter as chairman would be a disaster. I don't know about Horgan, but Herb Frady has the experience to do that, and of course Eric Maxwell could certainly step into that slot.

I believe the county has a contribution retirement plan now, with the county and employee both making contributions. I personally favor that kind of plan because it encourages the employee to participate in his retirement planning and makes it more likely employees will stay with the county.

If the sheriff is breaking the law, bring charges. I believe the federal laws give him a lot of leeway in spending the federal drug seizure money, and that's no problem with me. The sheriff ought to know better what he needs to run that office than anyone, that's why we elect a sheriff, to run the sheriff's office. I don't care how he spends the drug funds as long as he stays within the law. If he believes he needs a helicopter and buys it with federal drug seizure funds, why would I care.

Now, just thinking out loud, where did I indicate I liked YES people?Characterizing Wells as the NO person that she is shouldn't lead you to the conclusion you came to. The three amigos told tax commissioner George Wingo "NO" when he asked that they approve credit card transactions, even with the knowledge that it would cost the county nothing and all the costs would be borne by the credit card holder.

No to spending - no to milage rate increases - no to connections to county sewer systems - no to high density housing -

someone has to say NO or at least question the intent and purpose - otherwise we'll end up a Riverdale, and scrambling for funding to pay the bills every month.

My earlier comments from another blog - re Mr. Frady as chairman

Is that a good thing ? for the commission and the county? I'm not familiar with Frady - either I missed earlier comments or he does not push the right buttons to bring headlines and exposure on this website and in the citizen.

Frady would hold a critical role and more importantly tie breaker vote on the commission? Is this the change at the leadership position that we were all hoping for and wanted to see ?

So we have Frady, Peter, Horgan, Eric and a player to be named later. Frady as chairman, Jack or Linda to round out the commission.

Looks like we have NO other alternatives

My opinion for the record, No Frady should not be chairman. I respect seniority but I think the job would be more than he could handle.

Having said that, your comments make no sense. You're insuating that Frady is not the right change in leadership and then you say you don't even know him. It was at that point we all realize you're not being real. You're someone pretending to be someone. All credibility lost.

Aren't you the same poster who last night suggested Wells Maxwell would be a good ticket? Were you reaching out to Eric after all you have said about him? Again, credibility lost.

Submitted by allin on Thu, 07/20/2006 - 7:59am.

I believe your reply yesterday, I could be mistaken, sometimes it feels like I'm talking to one person with several logins? stated that commissioner Frady always wanted the position? Correct?

I did state I did not know Frady or anything about him - that was a correct statement.

Then you or whomever? stated Frady was the only one that did not have a full time job that could handle the work and time required?

Yes you can say "I'm insinuating" if those are Frady qualifications he just might not be the right choice for chairman.

Yes, I still believe Maxwell and Wells would be a good ticket and my point is that Maxwell might be the better choice for chairman after reading some of the feedback and comments about who would be the chairman?

I think you might be a little quick with your judgment and sentence on creditability ? Those with numerous logins lack creditability in my book.

I'm not familiar with the word creditability.

My home schooling failed me -

I appreciate the lesson - along with your unselfish time and efforts.

Will this be on my immigration test next week?

Submitted by lifeinptc on Thu, 07/20/2006 - 8:06am.

You're talking to the wrong person. I didn't say any of that stuff about Frady. I did not know Frady did not have a job. I don't know if Frady always wanted the position or not. All I said was I wouldn't put him there. You're responding to someone else's post.

Submitted by allin on Thu, 07/20/2006 - 8:15am.

You miss the point ?

Submitted by lifeinptc on Thu, 07/20/2006 - 8:33am.

I haven't found those comments posted about Frady anywhere. Now I suspect Janet again. So you're making the point of multi-posters having no credibility? Does CVS ever close?

Submitted by allin on Thu, 07/20/2006 - 9:18am.

You can suspect JANET AGAIN all you want.

Below is a reply in this blog (up a few messages) that refers to the other post where we were commenting about the next chairman and someone stated that Commissioner Frady would be next in line and listed why? He always wanted it - only one not working full time

"My earlier comments from another blog - re Mr. Frady as chairman

Again my memory failed me but if I were to guess it might have been "30yearresident" ?? or a login similar?

I can not locate the blog either - oh well - call me Janet? I'm getting use to it.

It's hard to make sense of. I don't think I'll try. I realize there is a lot of pressure in that household. I think I'll just let this one go. My only point was I didn't make the Frady comments.

Submitted by lifeinptc on Thu, 07/20/2006 - 8:18am.

If you're expecting me to respond to something I didn't post.

Submitted by lifeinptc on Wed, 07/19/2006 - 11:44pm.

I'll take the positive person over the negative. A person who only says no all the time gets nothing done.

Please don't change your mind and endorse Jack. You don't know Jack.
