37 of 38 precincts reporting.

As of 10:55 p.m. Tuesday, ALL votes -- including absentees -- have now been counted except about 100 outstanding Republican ballots sent to military personnel. Not all are expected to be returned by the noon Friday deadline.

Whatever paper ballots are received by that deadline will be counted and the totals certified Friday. There are not enough ballots outstanding to change the outcome of any of the races.

All of the above races are Republican. There were no contested local Democrat races.

I am very dissapointed that Bill Bonner did not win. I feel that he really tried his hardest to reach out to the community. I looked foward to seeing him every morning on my way to work at HWY 74 AND HWY 54!

Dunn will soon be DONE! Thank goodness!

We still have time to get rid of Wells in this election and a couple more dead weights in the next election. Don't pass up the runoff vote.

Yesterday many voted Dunn/Wells because they are thought of as one person. Those people won't be voting in the runnoff and Smith will win big time.

CONGRATULATIONS- You ran an honest race- You will do us proud! Let us pray Mr. Dunn does not make his last 6 months in office unbearable for us County Employees... he is now getting the picture of how much he is disliked- The County Employees are behind you Eric!

Fayette County,

You can Thank God above that Sam Chapman did not win. That would have truly been disasterous for everyone...including Sam.

Dear Fayette County,

You made the right decision.

And I am certain of it.

I fear Maxwell might become a Burrell on the board. Serve up some home cookin for his buddies. I hope I'm wrong. He'll be watched real close no doubt. Many Congrats to you Eric.

Hmmmm. Peter next. Should I or shouldn't I?

you don't know Eric Maxwell or you didn't know Scott Burrell!

And I too think Eric is a nice guy. Eric has a little history himself. Now I'm willing to wish him the absolute best and will support him cautiously. I'm hoping you'll drop it there and we don't have to go there.

I've seen these politicians and political hacks come and go and only about 15% - 20% of them ever pan out. I don't drink Kool-Aid anymore until I see what the effects are.

Respectfully, The Lion

Hmmmm...Peter is next. Should I? Or shouldn't I?

I don't think I'm going to need to vote for the Democrat (whew.) I think a significant amount of Linda's votes were people who don't keep up with local issues and just voted incumbent. Those people won't come back for the runoff.

My theory is that all of the people who voted for Jack and Sam did so because they do keep up with local issues enough to believe Linda needs to go. I think enough of them will come out to put Jack in. At least I hope. If that happens Maxwell, Smith and Horgan would be choosing the new chairman.

I would be happy to take Eric's "home cookin" rather than something from the others which are moving here and think they all know what is best for Fayette County. The people with deep roots here have a much better idea than the new kids on the block!
Eric, may I have a big spoonful!

What's the remaining precinct? Is it absentee? Early voting? Something else?

They always count the absentees last. Those are usually the diehard supervoters. According to Cal & Company wasn't there 2100 of them.

Submitted by rhino on Tue, 07/18/2006 - 8:45pm.

The 2100 included early voting. I think the early voting ones are separated from the absentee.

Thanks Rhino. Write-ins in General and early voting goes with the regular precint voting. Absentees won't be that much then because most of them would have just voted on the Early ballot.

How do you see Wells running her runoff campaign?

I am curious of your take on it.

Keeping it real and to the core of the issue, not the peripherals.

Cal had all his so called educated picks but Maxwell won, so tell us about the run off..

I guess the voters saw through all the last minute hype of Dunn's slanderous, and frivolous campaign along with his lawsuits included.

Grab onto your seat and hang on. This is gonna be close one. I'm taking no bets on this one.

Hey...Did the Duck get any votes?

When I asked for a pen at the polls, they gave me the strangest look and said I needed help. I told them I did need help trying to write in Duck.

Is there really no way to write in a candidate? How weird is that? Marilane and Richard probably thinks you are me at this point.

Submitted by rhino on Tue, 07/18/2006 - 8:42pm.

I think you have to wait for the regular election for write-ins.
