Gene Evans award

On Monday, Gene Evans, dealer and Bill Miller, general manager were presented with the Triple Crown Award by Maria Fierros, District Manager of Ford's Customer Service Division and The President's Award by Roy Hernandez, Ford's District Manager Southeast Market.

The Triple Crown Award is Ford Motor Company's most prestigious award and is given to dealers who win all three of Ford's highest awards - The Ford One Hundred Club for top vehicle sales, Ford's Customer Service Division Premier Club and The President’s Award. Gene Evans Ford of Union City has won The Triple Crown Award two years in a row. Only 19 dealers in the nation have won this award for 2005 with Gene Evans Ford being the only dealer in the State of Georgia.

The President's Award acknowledges those Ford and Lincoln Mercury Dealerships that have led the nation in exceptional service and vehicle ownership experiences for their customers. Ford Motor Company’s President’s Award is earned by an elite group – only 420 out of nearly 5,000 dealerships receive this prestigious award. It is given annually to dealers who provide their customers with first-rate treatment throughout the life of their Ford, Lincoln or Mercury vehicle.

“Earning this award is a reflection of our entire staff’s commitment to delivering the best customer experience possible” said Evans. I couldn’t be more proud to receive this recognition, especially since it comes from the people we value most – our customers. They’re the reason we were able to achieve this award.”

Gene Evans Ford has been in business for over 31 years and is located at 4355 Jonesboro Road in Union City.

Wow....Gene Evans' success might have been because of the HUGE Ford plant nearby. We'll see how successful they are at selling the new Fusions (made in Mexico). Way to go Ford.....put hundreds of people out of jobs...and another blow to our economy on the southside of Atlanta.

You are confusing two different topics. Gene Evans success or failure has nothing to do with the proximity of the Ford plant, nor does he have any control over the lack of production or the subsequent closing of the Hapeville plant. New car sales are horrible for a number of reasons. Gene Evans Ford has the greatest retention of customers in the state. That is the key to his success, period. In other words...Repeat customers. Truth is, half of Fayette county households have two cars, one of which will probably be an import. That's the cause for the plant closings and or the relocation out of the US. for cheaper non-union labor. I have never worked for Gene, but I, as many others in the business have always been aware of the key to his success. Sorry, you just kind of struck a nerve. ~Jim

I guess this blatant self promoting ad by jim, missed the news story that more of a Toyota Camry is made in the USA than a Ford F150. Imagine that. Ford left Atlanta a long time before announcing they were turning out the light. Struck a nerve w/ me too.

What cheerleader meant was that Ford employees bought their cars there, as they must be bought through a dealer.

True, Ford employees must purchase through a franchise store to receive the "A" Plan discounts. Actually there are three other Ford stores in the area that share equally in the factory buyers. Believe me a dealership could not begin to be profitable just dealing with employees. Xcheerleader's tone was that his success was based on that reason alone. Secondly, that was not a case of "blatant self promotion." Please consider us when you are in the market for a quality preowned vehicle...Now that's self promotion!! ~Jim

If you don't agree with the fact that Gene Evans Ford, "used" to be in "Ford Country" fine. You said I struck a nerve? Whatever. I just think you made yourself look dumb. I would be afraid to buy a car from you with some of the things that you have stated in this post. Maybe you should get an anonymous screen name if you don't want to grandstand all your knowledge (or lack of) about the automobile industry.

Isn't Gene Evans a Ford Dealership? Wouldn't you think that Ford employees and their families would have wanted to patrionize Gene Evans Ford because of the product? My comment was not an attack on Gene Evans Ford, just simply commenting on how Ford's business decisions are going to affect the dealerships. I think the two are related.
