Retired officer served with Dunn, recommends himTue, 07/11/2006 - 5:00pm

I strongly recommend to all Fayette County citizens the re-election of Greg Dunn for county commissioner. I have three reasons for being so convinced that Greg has been and is the best man. First, Greg has integrity and intellectual diligence. I worked with him as a co-equal when he was the personal advisor to the four-star commander of Forces Command at Fort McPherson. (I must point out that his selection as advisor to the commander was based upon a review of Greg’s military record, which included two combat tours in Vietnam with the 101st, and being commander of the 101st MP Battalion at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, and numerous other high-level staff and command positions as well as several decorations, two Purple Hearts, and other awards including paratrooper badge. The scrutiny for selection of an individual for personal advisor position is intense and meticulous.) Second, when Greg became my boss as he led a policy section for the Forces Command commander, I quickly found he always supported his staff officers. Further, I observed him chair many meetings with full colonels and generals/admirals from other commands within the Department of Defense. The focus was always the best solution and one that was consistent with federal law and public policy and that would meet the needs of the services now and in the future. Greg looks for the long-range good, not the immediate gratification of short-range thinking. Finally, while we worked long hours Greg was always looking out for his staff. He worked with us, he did not just tell what we needed to accomplish, he chipped in and pitched in when necessary. Fellow citizens, I have worked with him and for him. Vote Greg Dunn for the future of Fayette County. Jim Steinbach (Lt. Col USA Ret.) |
