Retired officer served with Dunn, recommends him

I strongly recommend to all Fayette County citizens the re-election of Greg Dunn for county commissioner. I have three reasons for being so convinced that Greg has been and is the best man.

First, Greg has integrity and intellectual diligence. I worked with him as a co-equal when he was the personal advisor to the four-star commander of Forces Command at Fort McPherson.

(I must point out that his selection as advisor to the commander was based upon a review of Greg’s military record, which included two combat tours in Vietnam with the 101st, and being commander of the 101st MP Battalion at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, and numerous other high-level staff and command positions as well as several decorations, two Purple Hearts, and other awards including paratrooper badge. The scrutiny for selection of an individual for personal advisor position is intense and meticulous.)

Second, when Greg became my boss as he led a policy section for the Forces Command commander, I quickly found he always supported his staff officers. Further, I observed him chair many meetings with full colonels and generals/admirals from other commands within the Department of Defense.

The focus was always the best solution and one that was consistent with federal law and public policy and that would meet the needs of the services now and in the future. Greg looks for the long-range good, not the immediate gratification of short-range thinking.

Finally, while we worked long hours Greg was always looking out for his staff. He worked with us, he did not just tell what we needed to accomplish, he chipped in and pitched in when necessary.

Fellow citizens, I have worked with him and for him. Vote Greg Dunn for the future of Fayette County.

Jim Steinbach (Lt. Col USA Ret.)
Peachtree City, Ga.

I am an Eric Maxwell supporter (go way back!!) but I am totally turned off by this kind of post. I've said it before and I will again-you people spouting out this venom may be swaying votes over to Dunn. I don't know Steinbach, but he did sign his name and you didn't. Respect someone elses right to express their opinion-especially when they have the guts to sign it.

If you're a Maxwell supporter why were you not here last month telling the Natural how rude she was being to everyone. I don't believe you.

That I've seen political races become so hostile that it turns voters off? That I would dare suggest Eric would be better served on this forum by positive comments about him rather than the constant put downs towards the other candidates? (whether they deserve it or not). I don't really care whether you believe me or not. Don't know who the natural is-didn't read it so I can't comment-so don't believe me.

This race has been extremely hostile from the other side. Someone cited a month ago, I think it was more like two or three months ago Janet Dunn was a beast towards Maxwell supporters. Then court decisions swung the pendulum. I understand the point you're trying to make but you don't understand the history of this race in this forum.

What does that term mean here? I notice several people use it but I always thought it was sexual only. Do you mean vote for the other person? Say so.

lived here since 1970 and heard it all my life-I'll continue to use it-thanks for your concern though!!

That applies as well.

You get a real positive or negative feeling in that area at times.

It is a near universal term. Used everywhere I have lived.

Just means anything that turns you negative on something.
