Beware of lawyer Maxwell; Chapman a loose cannonWed, 07/05/2006 - 9:01am

I attended the meet and greet of the candidates recently. I was appalled at the manner of Sam Chapman. He is a loose cannon. It scares me to think he could get elected. He doesn’t have a clue and will not listen to anyone. His running mate Eric Maxwell is a smooth speaker, but I say beware of this team. Maxwell says the land use plan is not set in stone and is malleable. Watch out. Chapman probably doesn’t know what the land use plan is and doesn’t care, since he is for development which will enrich him and his daddy’s bank. Lawyer plus banker equals development dollars. Linda Wells is very knowledgeable and prepared. Greg Dunn is also a very smart person. I don’t know them personally, just what I have read in the papers. Maybe they can come across a little arrogant, but they know what they are doing. I feel good about the way our government has been run the last eight years. Remember how it was before? In spite of the fuss with the sheriff, I feel they do a very good job for us. I still don’t know who is right and wrong with the deal with the sheriff. I suspect there is some right and some wrong on both sides, but that is for the court to finally decide. Anyway, I say stick with the incumbents who know what they are doing. Dunn has been on the ARC for some time now and I am sure has built coalitions there that will help our county. Vote Wells and Dunn July 18, the true conservatives. Lance Wilson |
