Two Peachtree City teens have been arrested for breaking into six businesses at the Wilshire Pavilion shopping center early Thursday morning, police said. One of the suspects was identified by police as Brok Chase, 19, of Balmoral Village Apartments. The other suspect’s name is being withheld because he is 16 years old, but police revealed that suspect also lives at Balmoral Village. Both suspects are charged with seven counts of burglary and six counts of criminal damage to property, police said. Chase and the juvenile were initially looking for money, but along the way they damaged items at each business in addition to the front glass doors which were shattered, police said. Power had been cut off to the businesses prior to the incident, but a burglar alarm went off at one of the buildings thanks to a backup power system, police said. When the alarm sounded, Chase and the juvenile fled the scene on a golf cart that had been stolen from a home on Mattan Point, police said. Chase and the juvenile are also being investigated for numerous reported golf cart thefts and a similar incident about a month ago when two businesses in the Wilshire Pavilion shopping center were burglarized, police said. A $135,000 bond was set on Chase by a Fayette County Magistrate; the juvenile is at a Regional Youth Detention Center awaiting a hearing. Police had offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of all individuals involved in the burglary. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 770-631-2510.
