Victim, suspect tell of alcohol, drug use For many teens, the web site MySpace.com acts as a means for communicating with friends and sharing their thoughts with the world. Dallas Crenshaw, the teenager killed at a party in Peachtree City Tuesday, and Kevin Johnston, who has been charged with Crenshaw’s murder, both had MySpace pages that now provide a look into their lives before the tragedy. Crenshaw loved rap music. He one day hoped to become a producer and CEO of his own record label, and he praised artists such as Tupac Shakur, Run-DMC and Jay-Z. Also listed among his favorite artists are Paul McCartney, the Beach Boys, the Beatles and Frank Sinatra. Both Crenshaw and Johnston speak of alcohol and drug use on their pages. Crenshaw, according to his page, smoked “droski,” a slang term for hydroponically-grown marijuana. Johnston admitted to drinking alcohol in the past month and indicated that he has taken four different types of drugs; it is not clear if he is referring to recreational drugs or prescription medication. Friends of Crenshaw have used his MySpace site to grieve the loss of their pal. Since the shooting, Crenshaw’s page has been swarmed with people reminiscing and honoring their lost friend. "It just doesn’t seem real,” reads one message on Crenshaw’s page. “We have so many memories. I can’t walk outside because I see your house and I can’t stop crying. I love you, Dallas, and I miss you so much already. I’ll never forget about you. Rest in peace, buddy.” Johnston also received messages of support on his MySpace page. “You will get through this,” one poster wrote. “You have such a good heart.” login to post comments |
