Peachtree City Mayor Steve Brown has reported that more than 240 of his campaign signs have been stolen or destroyed over the past three weeks.

In a press release Tuesday, Brown said some yards have had their signs stolen up to four times, and more than half of the total signs ordered have been stolen or destroyed. The campaign cannot replace the signs due to the expense and delivery turn-around time, he said.

Brown also said that his opponents’ signs were left standing in yards adjacent to his supporters who reported problems with their Brown signs.

“The people in the opposing special interest groups are so desperate to win the mayor’s race at any cost that they will destroy the personal property of others in their front yards,” Brown said in a statement, adding that he doesn’t blame teenagers for the vandalism.

Brown said his signs were targeted to affect his campaign for re-election.

“You just get really disappointed that it has come down to this point where those tactics are being deployed,” Brown told The Citizen.

Poor Steve, everyone is out to get you. Has it ever occured to you that not everyone that doesn't see things "your way" belongs to the proverbial "special interest" group? Has it ever occurred to you that just because someone opposes you, that doesn't make him or her a "criminal?" Your constant accusations about all the "crime" going on in PTC is getting old and demoralizing. Get real, the people you always accuse (and you do always accuse people) have way better things to do than drive around and steal your signs. Your constant paranoia about "them" is truly a sign of your view of reality. Once when asked on a psychological test if I think "they are out to get me," I asked "does anyone ever answer yes?" The psychologist stated that indeed some are excited to answer yes. He pointed out that if someone always believed that "they" were out to get him, he would be excited and relieved to finally find someone who believes him. How do you answer that question Steve? Do you believe that "they" are always out to get you? Your letters blaming "them" sure seem to indicate so.

Birdman, I love you. With your obvious stress it is a very positive step that you are getting professional help. Maybe you are experiencing stress, fatigue and a sense of impending loss. I too have experienced loss. So hang in there. They have professional help for you in the State Peniteniary, too. So come here, you big lug, and gimme a big hug.

You are odd. Taking on names of former councilwomen, each of whom Brown has hated and insulted over the years. You are odd. But you probably do need a hug. Consider it done. Did I point out, you are odd! Oh, I love you too, but you still can't have my Bud Lite.

This is the guy who wants to be mayor (again) writing this drivil and also using Tate Christian, Rex Kaigler, Paula somebody and who knows how many more. What specific mental illness does this man have? Doctors and wannbes, opinions please?

After we diagnose him, he will be easier to treat. I am not actually surprised at his foolishness, but give me break - the man is married to a doctor!!

I know all this and I'm just a stupid hamster.

By the way birdman - get a photo - maybe a stork?

Ok, insane works. But please, have a little understanding. Ever see the movie "The Three Faces of Eve?" Just look at the evidence: Brown (who always opposed annexation) negotiates a private annexation deal with Weiland. When confronted with this, he states he was negotiating as "Citizen Brown." Then when he clearly violated the state ethics laws by using Comcast to try and get the SPLOST defeated, he again said he was "Citizen Brown" (the fact the caption said "Mayor Steve Brown" was not "his" fault). But "Candidate Brown" claimed to not only oppose annexation, but also to have helped write the ethics laws. Unfortunately "Citizen Brown" didn't know those ethics laws and is for annexation. We just aren't sure where "Mayor Brown" stands. He seems the most confused of the personas. Anyway, it appears that the stress of the election has brought out more "personalities." He is even assuming a combination of three women! If he is in a runoff his head may explode. This is a Psych majors "dream" thesis. Hopefully some help is ahead for him. He definitely needs to find a real job with excellent health benefits. If he loses, will he be dragged from City Hall in a straight jacket? Now that would be a sight.

In every election everywhere there is always one self-centered candidate that releases a story like this simply to get attention. And there is always one newspaper who will fall for it and actually print it. No surprise Brown's the "victim" and The Citizen is the sucker.

Interesting how you folks have nothing but trash. Have you spoken a positive word about anyone other than the DAPC/DIRECTPACK racketeers?

Didn't think so...
