Disappearing signs

slider's picture

I gave Eric Maxwell permission to put up signs in front of three pieces of property I own. He put one sign on each property. I believe this is all the law allows. I left town for five days, and when I returned the signs were gone. He has since replaced one of them. I wish him luck keeping signs up as the Marshals office is the sign police in Fayette and they are Dunns boys.

Eric Maxwell wrote a letter and asked to put his signs up.
Other candidates have since just stopped and posted thier signs on my property.(which were promptly removed).
I appreciate Eric asking, and feel that it is both rude and arrogant to post a sign without asking the propert owners permission. This insinuates that I support this person.
Just because you cant see a house from the road(or even if there is no house on the property)does not give someone the right to use said property for signs or anything else.

1. Maybe they shouldn't be put up too early. Barry Amos hasn't removed any in Tyrone that were put up earlier than is lawfull. Maybe people in other areas, just did their jobs dispite who they were for?

2. Who the @@@@ ever votes for anyone because someone ...else ....has a sign in their yard? I think they are tacky, and imply that someone else it too stupid to vote their own mind and are swayed by seeing these signs. I ..do.. know their is one Tyrone counsilman, that when I see a sign in his yard, I know I will...NEVER VOTE FOR THAT PERSON because this counsilman, in my eyes, is a complete fruitcake!

I've been around since 1963, and signs have been showing up missing my entire life. It's part of the deal. You put out 3, hope 1 stays up. I couldn't keep a Mayor sign in my yard this past fall. I finally gave up and told my Friend he didn't really want the job anyways. Smiling

If that is true, why don't the Marshalls remove all of the illegal Chapman signs?

What's fun to watch is all the parties ignoring the sign ordinances and spanking the right-of-ways with their signage. They will and should disappear from there. Another funny sight is to see Linda's signs falling over because they couldn't get those little wires to go into that really hard ground. Campaign signs have become a joke but we still stick em up...for what reasons I don't know. I put about 30 Donald Duck signs up yesterday and and only 4 remain. I think it was that little pick-up with the Chapman magnet on the side that was tailing me the whole time that was pulling them up as quick as I could pound em in. Out with the Duck and in with the Chapman sign. Can't believe the developers were intimindated by a write in candidate.

Since the beginning of time accusations about opponents removing campaign signs has been #1 in the local and amateur political play book.

These accusations normally get between 5 and 8% of the sympathy vote (i.e. poor dude, the evil opponent removed his signs} Sometimes that is enough to win.

Watch carefully how all the newbie’s in this campaign play the "sign removal victim" card. My guess is Eric will be the biggest "victim"

If your right then my candidate Mr. Duck should get between 5-8% right out of the gate. Does that mean per say that if Greg, Eric and Donald Ducks campaigns whine loud enough they will each head out of the gate even at the poles at 8%. Too funny. I've never heard the sign whine issue factored into a campaign. But your right. It's never a matter if they will make it an issue as much as when they will make it an issue. Watch the accusations toward Greg start flying because the marshalls start yanking the illegal ones. That's already popped up once here....I think.

Vote Donald Duck - Republican Primary

Use this sign as your icon and post often. I don't think the Marshalls are in charge here.

Can we put the icon where the tag should be on my car?

You can use an image program to size the icon, overlay it on the tag and then merge the images.

If you don't have such a program, GIMP is free and will do the job quite nicely.
