Tyrone is PMS ing again!

just like clockwork, Paul, Mike, and Sheryl Lee are at it again! It seems a taxpayer of Tyrone, made some very embarrassing and logical points in an open letter in the Citizen last week. So embarrassing, that the same questions were put before the town council the next week to be voted on.

1. why should a taxpayer be given the run around when asking for information about where his tax dollars are spent?

2. why, once you get the public employee in question cornered, they should hit you with an outrageous bill for the information in question? Information, the Town of Tyrone should be giving freely as it shows were his tax dollars went.

Counsilwomen, Gloria Furr and Grace Caldwell, voted to freely email the info to the interested party, giving more of an 'open door' policy and a feeling of trust to the citizens as well as respect.

Paul, Mike, and Sheryl nipped it in the bud! if you want facts in Tyrone, its gonna cost $.25 a page, and employees hourly rate of pay to get them!

Since the Citizen sort of took up the taxpayer's plight last week, offering helpfull suggestions, Barry, the town manager, seized the moment and in front of BOTH newpaper reporters present, made the comment that the papers are clogging our sewer systems and that we should levy a fine of several hundred dollars for littering our neighborhoods with them!

It is stuff like this that makes your town a joke. Things were much better back when Norm was mayor and Barry Amos was in elementary school.

is standard for any government agency to charge for copies. Also, the hourly wage charge is standard. There should be some charge, otherwise some jerks would be asking for copies of everything in sight and just taking up time and paper. After all, it does costs to produce these copies.

Copies should be accessible

The hourly charge is abused. They scare a citizen by saying that they (Like Tyrone) will charge you the Town Manager's salary to look up a couple docs. And then there are ambulance chasers who use this to look for cases. But the hourly charge should not be abused but it is. It is a threat to scare you into backing off making them work or sharing info about the government.
