Brown pitches in to help older areasTue, 11/01/2005 - 6:26pm

Considering the negative comments being made about Steve Brown and all of his mistakes as mayor of our city, I would like to inject a positive on his behalf, especially when it involves the revitalization of the older communities in Peachtree City. Most of us would have to agree that communities like Wynnmeade, Clover Reach and others have needed, for some time, special attention from city government. I know from a personal standpoint that Mayor Brown has been instrumental in restoring a quality of life that has been absent for many years in these areas. He has shown that he is a mayor that cares about all of the people, no matter what their social standings or their incomes may be. He has been accessible to the residents and always encouraging in ways that motivate us to accomplish our goals and continue in our endeavors. As far as Wynnmeade, we have needed a sympathetic ear. Someone that was willing to roll their sleeves up and work side by side with us. Now we are at a point of feeling a part of Peachtree City, much to his credit. What affects our older communities, will ultimately affect the whole city. Not only did Mayor Brown help create and organize Community Day in Peachtree City, setting aside his busy schedule, he also participated in every way possible. He was just as dirty and sweaty as the rest of us. We were all proud of what we were able to give back to the residents of this city. I can’t say that we (PTC) will have the luxury of that accessibility, compassion and in our case that sympathetic and helpful ear if he is not reelected. We will have to see what happens. Don’t forget to vote. Merrilyn Arnold |
