Fayetteville police are trying to identify a man who accosted the manager of the Pizza Hut Sunday morning and took the store’s deposit bag from her. The suspect approached the female manager in the store parking lot just before 10 a.m., police said. The victim ran toward Glynn Street in the hope that someone would see her, but the suspect stopped her before she got there, said Lt. Beverly Trainor of the Fayetteville Police Department. The suspect told the victim that he had a gun, and he ordered her to hand over the money, Trainor said. The victim didn’t see a gun, but the suspect pushed her to the ground and took the deposit bag, Trainor said. He then left the area on foot, dashing behind the Crumpton’s Furniture store, which is the same direction where he initially was spotted by the manager, Trainor said. The victim was not physically injured, Trainor said. The suspect was described as a heavy-set black male approximately 5-feet-10-inches tall wearing a long black T-shirt and jeans, Trainor said. A sketch artist from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation will try and create a rendering of the suspect later this week, she added. The bag contained an undisclosed amount of cash, police said. login to post comments |
