Illegal Immigrants

I'm not sure where I stand on the illegal immigrants situation. There is hard labor to be done that U.S. citizens don't seem to want to do.

I don't think they should be receiving government benefits, how stupid is that that our policies are not better written to prevent that.

I also don't think we should use the National Guard to patrol the border. That's overkill.

There is a need for more discussion on the matter. I'm not sure the knee jerk politicians are the ones to decide it but I know they will.

Illegal Immigrants and social security

Has it dawned on anyone that since they are now a...LARGE...part of the work force and employers don't pay any social security on them, that is part of the reason SS will dry up by the time you are old and grey? All the money ..the citizens.. pay in, goes for that and other things, like schools, police, etc. The average citizen gains nothing by them being here and looses a lot. They are robbing us. Big business and the illegals are the only ones gaining anything out of this!

I service several companies that use illegals. Not a secret.

One laughs that every year their SSN get rejected by the Feds. Next day they have new ones.

One SSN is now in use by a third worker.

Another company has a 22 year old claiming 10 deductions.

This is reality in addition to the many employers who pay in cash.

we have a legal -illegal

that lives in our neighborhood that I can say contributes nothing. They married a local, seem to run a business out of their house, have other legal-illegas? hanging around our neighborhood. With them drugs are not too far behind. If you don't believe me, us go to the DEA's most wanted page and see who is there. It ain't a bunch of Swiss illegals!

Don't bite on that argument.

Americans want to be carpenters, brick layers, framers, fabricators and so much more.

They hire illegals because they can pay them less than half the skilled wage and often in cash to avoid SS, unemployment and other contributions.

It shows in the work.

Old jobs that use to be summer jobs for high school kids have been taken away as well.

Well, I guess when you throw in the prospect of oversized bug zappers the National Guard doesn't seem so much like overkill after all.

That's harsh (although it was funny)I can think of better uses for over sized bug zappers.

Shoot them with red ink that won't wash off, then pick them up at the job waiting area. They should be easy to spot with a big red mark on their head.
