Nationwide poll: Bush's performance vs. Clinton's performance

Basmati's picture

If you think Bush is a better president than Clinton was, the majority of America disagrees with you..
CNN National Poll: Clinton outperformed Bush
The highlights (or lowlights, per your personal politics):

  1. Handling the economy (63 percent Clinton, 26 percent Bush)
  2. Solving the problems of ordinary Americans (62 percent Clinton, 25 percent Bush).
  3. Foreign affairs (56 percent Clinton, 32 percent Bush)
  4. Taxes (51 percent Clinton, 35 percent Bush)
  5. Handling Natural Disasters (51 percent Clinton, 30 percent Bush)
  6. Dividing the country (59 percent Bush, 27 percent Clinton)
  7. More Honest (46 percent Clinton, 41 percent Bush)
  8. Handling National Security (46 percent Clinton, 42 percent Bush)

Bush pales in comparison to America's greatest living ex-president.

What in the world does Former President Bill Clinton's "handling of other women" have to do with how he governed this country so well? Bill and Hillary obviously have a personal relationship that is not based on sex but a true desire to lead and govern the peoples of this country in a "compassionate manner". Both Bill and Hillary have every right to have friendships and sex with whomever they choose. Your just jealous because deep down you wish people desired you like women and men desire the Clintons.

I've never heard it put in quite that way. People have a *right* to have sex with whomever they choose? Life, liberty and the pursuit of hanky panky....

Well, then, I don't deny Bill or Hillary's right to have sex with whatever women they choose.

And don't be such a goofball. It was a JOKE. Lighten up. Are you some kind of left wing fundamentalist or something?

Fundamentalism is a matter of form--not content. Among other things, it entails being a humorless ideologue.

Totally unbiased and fair.

Sorry, but the Clinton News Network/Communist News Network is not at the top of my dependability list.

I much prefer some of the independent ones for polls like this.

That is my comment on this topic.

Later.

How's our resident Christian hater. Wouldn't you expect those kind of numbers coming from a network that Conservatives don't even watch. Conservatives hang up on pollsters when they ask their skewed questions. Most I know never respond to them. You would because you like the way the questions are phrased. So I see your spewing more hate today. The president eating the cat in a cool spoof on the photo of "W" eating corn on the cobb. Remember when that one came out. What happened to your Hitler photo??? Tired of staring at yourself when you admire your own posts? I can read your thoughts kid ....you would love to march us into a death camp wouldn't you hate boy?

Yes, *IF* the poll was directed at the CNN audience, then it will certainly be slanted. It would be like walking into a Baptist church and taking a survey on belief in God, or taking a temperance survey at the local pub. But it looks as though a professional company was *hired* by CNN to conduct the survey. It would be interesting to know the wording of the questions.

At any rate, clearly there is widespread dissatisfaction, and not the least of the concerns is the daily bad news from Iraq. Bush's diminishing support is *precisely* the short-term goal that the terrorists are aiming for. Wear down American resolve until there is an outcry to get our troops out. And that's when they will fill the power vacuum that is left behind.

If the ship sinks, I'll be one of the few still on board and bailing.

But it's not just the liberals who can ask skewed questions. I got a call from the NRA several weeks ago, and the lady asked me this survey question (or close to it):

"What do you think of a proposed San Francisco law that would wrest guns from the hands of law abiding citizens, leaving them only in the hands of dangerous criminals?"

I especially liked the word "wrest," which calls to mind skinhead cops with good citizens thrown to the ground, knees in their backs, prying hunting rifles from their hands.

During the last election cycle CNN took a poll that was very negative on Republican candidates.

Someone got hold of the raw poll data. All polled were registered Democrats from the most liberal area of New York City.

Thus my statement on not trusting their polls.

As said, a biased and slanted poll from anyone using a filtered polling pool is going to give the results they want to hear.

That's an incredible breach of journalistic ethics.

If it's true.

Given your history of distorting facts, though, in the absence of a credible link supporting your spurious claim (FYI newsmax and clownhall.com are not "credible" in the eyes of most), then I'll have to assume you are indulging in your favorite "Christian" habit of bearing false witness.

Since you posted the results and CNN has been caught so many times. in the past, slanting things, it is upon you to show how and who was polled and exactly how the questions were phrased.

You show me why I should accept their poll as being accurate.

This Link is an example of how CNN works.

That graph was a deliberate visual distortion.
