Greg Dunn - Save Yourself !

Get Real's picture

Everyone thinks that Greg is Dunn. I think he has a chance to salvage his re-election. Nobody will argue the fact that overall Greg has done a very respectable job regarding zoning issues. That is a HUGE issue in Fayette County. OK. Maybe the developers might argue that. We give Greg credit for controlled growth and protecting the zoning ordinances.

The problem is that your desire for power and control is clouding your judgment and you are not listening to us. You have a lawyer and his gang cheering you on and telling you that "you need to take a stand against the sheriff" and “whose in control here anyway". If I were McNally I'd be your biggest cheerleader too so I could bill the taxpayers’ pants off.

Here's what you need to do:

1. Admit You Were Wrong. Publicly and HUMBLY admit such. People love it when someone is man enough to admit they were wrong and will confess such. That will really appeal to the people in the middle whom neither hate you nor love you but appreciate your stand on zoning. Go ahead and apologize to the Randall. Reasonable people can bring about reasonable results.

2. Dump The Lawyer. Throw Bill McNally and Company under the bus. Look at the horrible advice they have given the county and the costs associated with their greed and manipulation. Let them take the heat for this fiasco. If they were truly your advocates then they would not have allowed you to get stripped and whipped like they did. Chunk em under the bus and drive back and forth a couple of times so we can be done with em. Let them earn their monies doing real estate closings or maybe they could spread pine straw or something. Enact a little term limits on the County Moocher.

3. Support Your Local Sheriff. We want to keep our county's tough reputation against predators and scumbags. Let him focus on that and putting his problem (Bruce Jordan) in his place.

4. Stand Up For Fayette County On The ARC. We don't care how those other guys do it and your job should not be to see how many allies you can muster up for your future political battles. Protect Us.

Just Do It. And maybe we won't get stuck with the trial lawyer and Chapman.

Bill Bonner v. Dan Lakly for the State House seat ?

Does anyone have any perspective on this race ? Both of them were County Commissioners at one time.

Any thoughts ???

Most of the time Get Real and Islewood sound like they have been hitting the jug. Reads like they are typing in a stupor. All things considered though, Get Real is right. Dunn has to apologize; tell us what he will do to reverse this litigation trend; support Randall and continue the good job on growth.

Will he be humble and open minded enough to listen ? Dunno.....

the jug. But I do like a bit of the Saturday Night Live humor of yester year and the humorous style of Jay Leno. I'm intoxicated with humor as I chuckle away on this keyboard. If my {{{{EDITED}}}} was puckered and ever so serious about everything I keyed then I might as well go to sleep.

I can be oh so serious when I need to but if we all are then let's hang this up and go to sleep. be honest and admit that everyone of you enjoy being anonymous so you can say things without getting your nose busted. You love it and you know it.

NOW FOR THE SERIOUS STUFF: I did lay a well thought out strategy for
Greg to put this behind him with no political fallout. However, by no means did I ever think him capable of actually doing it. Hmmmm...I won't underestimate him though. Even Islewood came around and admitted Teddy Roosevelt was a great Republican president. Before long we'll have him professing Reagan as the Great One. Time will tell.

I'm not going to get worked up on this particular race because with the options we have it really doesn't matter. Wouldn't be the first time I've voted for Donald Duck.

Well there, lion (hee, hee) you actually have a good idea with your 4 points. Problem is Greg Dunn can't get through #1 - admitting he was wrong. Right there you have a reason to vote for Eric Maxwell, since another 4 years with Dunn will be used rehashing this issue, over an over again - at taxpayer's expense.

Certainly Maxwell has an ego, but he's not running for king (as Greg sees his role) he is only running for a commissioner's seat. In fact, that is the only downside of Maxwell beating Dunn - a new chairman, which would almost certainly be Frady.

Think about it. Linda Wells is done for sure. Pfiefer is not exactly leadership material and both of the new commisioners (probably Chapman and Maxwell) will influence Horgan to give the chair to Frady. Not really that bad, since Frady actually understands public service.

You think Dunn can survive and yet Linda Wells is finished? How do you figure that? I am trying to understand.

Dunn's support is too strong. He wins and gets to be chairperson again. Right or wrong does not matter when you have power and support. Remember Richard Nixon?

Wells is defintely out, but you forgot Jack Smith who is the obvious winner. Sam is a clown.

Who is Jack Smith? Why would he unseat Ms. Wells? Sam Chapman made himself clear yesterday when he said he was in favor of development at any cost, in so many words. I agree that he is not a good candidate, but I cannot find out anything about Mr. Smith and why he would be better than Linda

The "Time for a Change" theme that Eric Maxwell and his campaign manager have chosen is brilliant and will work. It will also work against all other incumbents - which happens to only be Linda. Then it is Jack vs. Sam and those that know and respect Jack will vote for Jack. And those that get to meet and talk to (or listen to) Sam will like Jack as well.

Jack Smith wins! And I haven't missed one winner in the last 3 elections.

and listen to Sam will like Jack as well. Too funny Rodent. FYI, I got the sheriffs department running background checks on Jack and I've also called out the CIA and the insurance spies. I should have a full report in the near future. But so far he sure is looking good. I'm in the middle of the forensic audit at the moment. But Jack should weather that investigation well. I'm using Greg McNally's guy.

Gotta love it Bobby...Dunn's power is comparable to Nixon? Nixon freaking resigned ! Wow...That seven years of college was a heckuva investment for you there. I do agree with you on Smith and on Lil Sammy. Smith is the sleeper in this thing. But I agree with Get Real, unless there is a huge mea culpa and some big showing by Greg he is in trouble.

And as to the Bruce lover. Randall needs to be recognize his support but also recognize the liability that Jordan is. Tell me why Jordan is Sheriff material ? Since he is not a college grad he is not eligible to a cop in PTC but he can be our Sheriff ??? And how about the big whiff on the double murder case...Too interested in hair spray and press conferences.

The only time Bruce is tough on criminals is when the criminal is handcuffed and Bruce is flanked by six armed deputies. Then he's a tough dude !

Since society cares so much about appearances, pretty boy will easily be the next sherriff. He's been primping for years.

Submitted by bulldogs on Thu, 05/04/2006 - 5:38am.

How about 20+ years experiance? How about the sucessful prosecution of Jim Watson, The Flint River Murders, Holly Harvey & Sandy Ketchum. That was just to name a few, there are many more. You obviously dont like Bruce and it sounded good to you to make a stupid comment about him. He has helped make the Sheriff's Department one of the finest in the country.

Bulldog. A blind, deaf mute bulldog could have gotten Holly and Sandy convicted. He did all that by himself. I'll bet the rest of the TEAM he had working with him appreciate your Bulldog Bull %@&!.

At least Dunn ain't a crook...How do we know ? The Twins figured it out. They said that if Dunn were getting a little payola, he'd have a lot better haircut than that.

Dunn can survive if he does a little humility. He's rock solid on zoning--- Maxwell would bulldoze and pave his granny's yard. Maxwell has to explain his way out of this litigation mess, promise not to do it again, stay out of law enforcement and focus on how he has been strong on zoning.

Dittos on the ARC...

The twin Janets are looking good as always and as always you make perfect sense - sort of.

Dunn wins if he paints Maxwell as a developer's tool, which is easy if everyone forgets who actually supports Dunn, the PTC development community. Humility ain't gonna happen. Forget that.

Maxwell's only chance is Dunn gets arrogant about the sherriff and tries to pretend he didn't lose big time - which he did.

Man..don't make me defend myself. OK. Let's just say I'm not bashing. Just concerned. I think the guys a publicity hound, a politcal opportunist and has an ego a bit like Greg. Other than that I suppose he's a great guy. Just don't think he is the humble gentleman our Sheriff Johnson is. I appreciate the way Randall has run his department and it reflects in the class act people he hires. Anyone that has contact with them will voice the same sentiments. It's just that every time Bruce Jordans name is brought up sparks fly. And that's not coming from Greg's camp. Soooo....it maybe best to let this one drop. Or maybe it's too late cause I'm sure others will now chime in since you've chose to go there.

Sorry Bruce...I mean Fly On The Wall. Didn't mean to offend you. And one final thing. That's not me driving up 74 every morning in the Red Ford F-150 King Ranch with the license # JLB 683.

Awwww, I'm sorry. What were your friends arrested for? Smiling

Sorry Bruce...I mean Fly On The Wall.

There is definitely someone here who pretends to be Bruce Jordan - I saw one myself. Uh Oh made a pretty blatant user name and post and then flamed himself. I heard about someone creating a user name and then carrying on a full-blown argument with "Bruce" (before I knew about these boards).

I don't think flyonthewall is one of those folks, though, judging by his or her posts. I think he or she is someone who cares about Bruce. Some folks do, ya know.
