Traffic in both directions on part of Ga. Highway 54 West in Peachtree City will likely remain shut down until 2 p.m. today as crews work to repair a gas leak, city officials said.

The road was closed between Ga. Highway 74 and the CSX railroad bridge after a gas line was cut around 10:15 a.m., said City Public Information Officer Betsy Tyler.

Drivers are asked to take alternate routes around the closed section of the highway.
