Honoring a fallen officer

The family of Atlanta Police Officer Mark Cross is recognized Saturday afternoon in a special ceremony honoring law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. Cross, a member of the APD’s Red Dog drug squad, was shot and killed April 23, 2005, after he and his partner pulled over a suspicious vehicle in an area known for drug sales. Cross’s parents live in Fayette County. Fayetteville’s The Villages Amphitheater hosted the gathering of hundreds of law enforcement and public safety officers.

Thanks John for bringing to light the sacrifice that Mark Cross and his family have made in law enforcement and protecting each of us. I know that Mark didn't wake up on that awful day last year and plan to die in the line of duty but he did. In a few weeks John's words and these words will fade off into nowhere and I will probably forget Mark's name. I won't however, forget what he and many more like him have done for us. Mark Cross...You are a true American Idol.

Now for the sarcastic part....Lets compare....One little paragraph for Mark Cross who gave it all and 14 links to articles written for Paris who after a couple of years of being a celebrity probably wouldn't give any of you American Idol droolers the time of day. But of course we all know the only ones that could possibly top Mark's sacrifices would be those heroic Delta pilots sacrificing for us each and every day.
