Summer Camps

I am desperatly looking for a reasonable priced summer day camp for my kids to go to. I haven't lived here long and the day cares are too high. I was looking for something in a church if possible. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know.

If you are just looking for something to keep the kids busy and not substitute for day care try some of our local church vacation bible schools. My mom used to send us to 4 or 5 a summer and it was a great experience. We attended our Church of Christ VBS and ones at local Baptist and Methodist churches. It gave us a great basis for our faith and was a lot of fun. I still have fond memories.

I second the recommendation for Camp McIntosh. My kids loved it. Camp Deer Point at the YMCA facility on Huiet road is pretty good, too. It runs all summer long in week-long sessions, and it includes before/after care if you really need a full day (i.e. you work). It's a little repetetive, though; a kid might get pretty bored of it for a whole summer. But my kids enjoyed it for a couple of weeks.

The Peachtree City Parks and Recreation Department has a wide array of summer camp offerings. Here is a link to our catalog.

or you can pick up an activities catalog at City Hall, The Library, Kedron Fieldhouse, or Recreation Administration. If you have any questions feel free to call the Peachtree City Rec. Dept. at 770 631-2542 or Kedron Fieldhouse at 770 631-2525.

The Citizen, starting in May will have a page of listings in the Weekend section called Summer Fun. It will list local camps and other things to do with your family and kids. Look for it!
