There are many good things, though...Good parks and recreation; bucolic atmosphere; good schools; good proximity to amenities and the many good things of Atlanta (i.e., professional sports).

SMOLA ALERT: They should both be voted out of office.All they have done is to suck money out of projects like the Air Show and attend "all you can eat" breakfast buffets. They both should be voted out. They will mess up 74 and Janet on the school board has done nothing.

How do you get money out of an airshow? You should have been at town hall the other night... Smola looked like a jerk. After ..YEARS..of asking them to lower taxes, and last year it was pointed out to him that Delta, Ford, and military base employees were gonna get soaked. His statement to us was "it is only 40? something more a year than it was last year, and I'm not prepared to give that up!" I guess he thought he wouldn't be hurt by the Delta thing, and the rank and file could " eat cake". When Delta almost went under, he finaly considered how it would effect ..HIM..

The way you get money out of an air show is to sign a contract with the promoters that gives you a % of each $ you raise through what would appear to be genuine volunteer fund raising efforts. That's how you get money out of an air show. Not that there's anything wrong with that!

I wonder if anyone knows if that happened. I have heard before that these people like Jerry Lewis, always got a bundle for their so called charity work. What a sad thing.

The air show dollars was a mess. Janet Smola was getting paid a huge marketing fee and with the Kiwanis dollars and city dollars involved it was a mess. If you have a community/civic event we should not have some public official making money off of it. Why couldn't she have volunteered like all the other folks? I think it stinks.

Does anyone know any ball park figures? Like from ...this much ...to this much? I never went to, nor thought the air show was anything...why would all these groups put money into getting it here, when they probably would have done it for near free for charity? I'm not being ugly, but I can't believe anyone would have thought that would bring a crowd. Did a lot of groups get 'soaked'? what a sad thing.

That person must think more of money than charity....
