A 15 year-old Fayette County High School student has been charged with making terroristic threats and disrupting a public school resulting from a bomb threat made to the school Tuesday.

The bomb threat was placed to the school at 8:21 a.m., leading to the evacuation of students and a search of the school by Fayetteville Police and school staff, according to Fayetteville Police spokesman Steve Crawshaw.

The hoax was uncovered after officers were able to determine the identification of the caller and an interview with the juvenile was conducted by officers and school authorities, Crawshaw said.

The 15 year-old male was charged as a juvenile. Crawshaw said the name could not be released due to age restrictions. The charge for making terroristic threats is a felony while disrupting a public school carries a misdemeanor charge, he said.
