One More Time Randall

SHERIFF’S RACE ??? Survey people in Fayette and they will point to several reasons for coming here. One is low crime. You would have to be blind and less than objective if you didn’t give Randall Johnson, our Sheriff, a great deal of the credit. This is a request that Randall run again. I know that he has mentioned he won’t run again but we are worried. Who is going to fill those shoes? Fayette County is bigger and the crime problems are more complex. Please Randall, run one more time and train a well educated replacement. Fayette County needs a college educated professional with forensics/major felony experience of at least 10 years in a big city department because that’s what we are facing now.

You can relax Cops Friends. Sheriff Johnson will run one more time.
The more compelling question to ask would be...does he intended to commit to fulfilling the term? Randall has been very good to the people of this county. His record speaks for itself. You are right when you say that people move here because of a crime rate that is demonstrably lower than surrounding counties. I just wish he would adhere to all the rules that everyone else must comply with around here. You need not worry about importing someone from the outside. It won't happen. His heir apparent has been in place for years. If you were close enough to the situation you would already know that his has designated his replacement.

The Lt. Col. you are referring to thinks he's the Sheriff right now! Randall Johnson doesn't have any authority over Bruce. That is apparent by what Sheriff Johnson has let Bruce get away with over the past decade (or even longer) Bruce Jordan runs the Sheriff's department and is ruining its reputation. And let's be honest. The fight with the commish isn't really with the Sheriff, it's with Bruce. Hopefully Randall will wake up in time and give Bruce the "boot" he deserves.

Walk me through this, will you?

We want someone from the big city because...?

The crime rate is out of control because of the current administration?

The replacement you describe would look good on paper?

We want to duplicate the success big cities have with their crime rates?

Yes, Rhino,
We need a college educated Sheriff with leadership abilities. NOT a high-school graduate with dictatorship tendencies like Lt. Col. B. Jordan that will most likely run if Sheriff Johnson retires.

We had one that applied for the Chief of the City of Fayetteville, claimed he was not qualified. They knew who they wanted before the job was advertised. But he will run for Sheriff. And he is very well qualified.
