A Peachtree City teen who survived a violent collision with a tree on Peachtree Parkway in August now has further traffic charges filed against him from an auto crash last week near McIntosh High School, police said.

Eric Thomas Stenger, 16, of Henna Place was cited for failure to maintain lane and failure to report an accident on Monday, March 13, according to a report filed by the Peachtree City Police Department.

The report stated that Stenger’s 2003 Dodge Ram pickup struck another vehicle on Ga. Highway 54 at the intersection of Walt Banks Road Monday at 3:43 p.m. Stenger did not stop at the scene, telling a police officer that he “freaked out” and needed to call his father.

The vehicle Stenger struck received minor damage, police said in the report.

Stenger is one of three 16-year-old drivers facing racing and reckless driving charges stemming from the August crash. Stenger spent an extended amount of time in the hospital following that collision, which severely impacted the driver’s side door.

This kid and his "driving skills" and "good judgment" are why our police officers have job security.
