Tired of media telling us how we feel

papa109's picture

Am I the only one that is tired of the national news media telling me how I feel? I'm waiting for the time when the liberal media will start printing news and conducting factual polls.

Man, I am with you. I can't wait until the Liberal Media starts printing and reporting news again. I am sick and tire of all the Bushies who control the media these days. CNN has become so right wing these days that even a Progressive like me has tune to Fox to get a little balance. Even the AJC tries to make Sonny Perdue look like a conservative when we all know he's really more like me.

I guess some of us do not let the media tell us what to think, we got the guts to think on our own. I do notice of late that the media is getting enought guts to report on the sorry-assed actions of the worst president in my year on earth, GWB. I have now live through the terms of 12 of them and never ever did I think we could ever get one as incompetant as Bush. Is there anything that he has not yet screwed up?

Worst president ever award goes to :tie

James Earle Carter (Mr. Malaise) He alowed the Shah of Iran to be overthrown by radical students who are now enriching uranium in order to fry as many infidels as they can. He also sat on his butt for 444 days while our hostages were abused.

William Jefferson (BJ) Clinton He failed to take decisive action after the first WTC bombing and lobbed a few cruise missles after bobmings at two embassies, a warship and a barracks in saudi Arabia. He also turned tail from Somalia after he failed to provide enough forces during the Blackhawk down incident!

RECORDS SET BY Clinton

- The only president ever impeached on grounds of personal malfeasance
- Most number of convictions and guilty pleas by friends and associates*
- Most number of cabinet officials to come under criminal investigation
- Most number of witnesses to flee country or refuse to testify
- Most number of witnesses to die suddenly
- First president sued for sexual harassment.
- First president accused of rape.
- First first lady to come under criminal investigation
- Largest criminal plea agreement in an illegal campaign contribution case
- First president to establish a legal defense fund.
- First president to be held in contempt of court
- Greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions
- Greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions from abroad
- First president disbarred from the US Supreme Court and a state court

Now Major Asstired, let us not forget George W. Bush's heroics. Has a president ever so heroically screwed things up? Does anyone know of anything that Bush has not yet screwed up?

Bush came to power and there was the first budget surplus in years, but Bush took care of that, we now have a deficit bigger than all of those in the history of the country, added together. And that includes expensive wars like WWI and WWII etc.

Bush comes to office and America is the most respected nation in the world, Bush took care of that. Folks around the globe do not think much of us (actually it is only Bush they have little time for).

Bush comes to office and we had in this nation as close to full employment as we have ever gotten, now even by dropping people from the rolls we have a higher rate.

Bush comes to office and we are a relatively united people who respect each other, even in our disagreements. Now people cannot even talk about our problems. So much for Bush bringing us together.

Bush comes to office and the middle class is growing and prospering. Now it has shrunk and there is a great divide in income.

Bush comes to office and public education across the country was respected thought the world. Texas was on of the few states that had lousy public education. Now Bush’s “no child left behind” has replaced meaningful learning with a giant cram session of standardized tests.

Bush comes to office and we were continuing to address our nation’ infrastructure needs. New Orleans after Katrina is a good example of Bush inability to encourage the address of this.

Bush comes to office and we are still taking care of out veterans, since 2003 there is a means test for getting medical service—even for some vets who were actually in the VA hospital years ago find it dificult to requalify.

Bush come to office and the major producing nations of the world were taking steps to address global warming and the overall environment of the planet. Bush really took care of that by pulling our nation out of the treaty effort.

Bush comes to office and the new generation of college students was still getting meaningful assistance to get a higher education. That has been cut and Bush has now handed them a $30,000 delayed tax on their future—one shared by every man, woman, and child in the country.

By the way, has our mission come back from Mars yet, and how is that new Social Security program working? And Bush put Condie Rice in charge of moving on to peace in Iraq--how is she doing? Oh, she has move on to State?

Of course, none of these, or any other shortcomings, have anything to do with leadership at the top. There must be someone down the line that Carl Rove can blame—a former Secretary of the Treasury (what was his name), the former Secretary of the Interior (what was her name), a former intelligence council in the White House (Clark comes to mind), a former diplomat whose CIA agent wife got outed, or a former Secretary of State who is still loyal but some WH operative whisper behind his back. And best not run for office against our fearless leader or you too will get smeared.

That's about the only thing you left out.

Since you think he is so much worse than Carter and Clinton, let's ;ook at something positive, that may be a steach for such a pesemistic guy like you.

SUCESSES we've had in the last 6 years. Two conservative Supreme Court appointments that will stifle the liberal and frankly dangerous agenda that the Democrats are trying to accomplish through a court takeover since they are rejected by the voters of America. We have not had a single sucessful terrorist attack on our nation since 09/11/2001. With our Republican Congress and President, we have freed over 50 million people that a Democrat President was content with letting them suffer and die. By all accounts, the Democrats who are looking for power are also content with not only letting injustices occur in the world, but they'd return to the same lax mindset that let Al Qaeda attack Americans around the world and in our own nation almost annually without any repercussions. We've had tax cuts and have been brought out of a Democrat-induced recession into some of the most prosperous times our nation has EVER seen!

deficit: were you asleep when the stock market tanked after 9/11?

respected nation: Dude you are delusional, Clinton didn't make waves for 8 years and the world liked American submissiveness. Weasley Clark almost started WWIII in the Balkans with the Russians. Korea got the nuke due to him and Carter. China bought and stole technology from us thanks to Bill. Pakistan was almost an enemy. Yeah the world respected us so much that after 8 months of Bush they flew 3 planes into our buildings, moron. Like I give a hoot about what France thinks of us.

Unemployment is abou 5%, where are you getting your info Democratic Underground?

Bush bringing us together: Takes two to cooperate, Bitter Democrats still can't get over the 2000 election. His bipartisan ways worked in Texas, but DC is very different.

Record levels of home ownership, GDP up, productivity up, consumer confidence up, yeah real bad news.

public education: sorry nothing much will change until either the Teacher's Union dissolves or there is competition and choice through school vouchers. Monopolies suck.

New Orleans: corrupt local and state government, they knew during Clinton's administration that the leavies would not hold a cat 4 storm.

veterans: spending is up as compared to Clintoon.

Global warming, junk science an is it really fair that India and China were exempt, talk about ruiing our economy!

College assitance: Show me in the constitution where my tax dollars should go to educate someone else's kids? Want an education, work for it!

Social Security program: I guess you slept through the State of the Union, where Democrats cheered the fact that they blocked any changes or reforms, yeah that's Bush's fault! NOT

Thanks for reminder. Bush's rape of the environment does make Love Canal look like a nice sand box for kids to play in.

I love it Maj, you and Bush can look into the future and see that things have already happened. Also, you must like the credit card spending by which Bush gave the top percentage of those who benefit from our system money that we do not even have. Oh well, what is a bit of big government spending to a compassionate conservative.

As for no attacks on our nation, I wish your words and those of Bush would shield our land forever. I long ago got over belief in abracadabra and open sesame, I like to see something more than blank suggestions from a guy like Bush.

As for Carter and Clinton, I was not wild about them. However, I have now live during the terms of 12 presidents and I never ever thought this great land of ours would get a president as inept as Bush is.

As for your freeing 50 million, gee I did not know the war was really over, my oh my. A bit of wishful thinking on your part, maybe?

So you would like to blame the poor stock market after 9/11 for our poor local and global situation? Or blame the stock market for anything? You have so many excuses you might try to go to work for Rove.

Oh, it is “Weasley” Clark is it? How do you feel about Richard Armitage? Like to call him names as well. I don’t think France gives a hoot what you think, well I would think they do know you well, however. You could spread Bush’s great diplomacy for him—you got the words for sure.

Yes unemployment is about 5%, when the hell has that good? Plus folks get dropped off the roles. I guess you just have low expectations. With Bush as your man that is a good idea.

So good leadership is that other people cooperate? Bush should have stayed in Texas. ENRON would cooperate for sure.

You think folks have it so good in our economy? You might travel around a bit and find out what is happening off that retirement dole of yours.

“Monopolies suck,” you say? You a guy who seems to have spent much time in the army—poor you for that long haul through autocratic control.

Good for you, blame New Orleans on Clinton. That is a real good one. Why not also blame Clinton for cancer?

As for services to veterans, you ought to be ashamed of yourself on this one. The money per veterans has been cut. What army were you in?

Yup, you and Bush think global warming is junk science. I guess since it never rained in the army, only on the army, you are an expert in it. How many years were you all wet?

On Social Security and Democrats cheering? Good God, so “sound” really do cause things to happen? Maybe Bush could break wind? The only reform needed for SS is to stop taking the 5% of FICA that is used for general tax purposes. This is a flat tax on working people that your heroes at the very top can escape. Ok, so as a wannabe you vicariously swoons over the money they pocket out of the system.

Dream on Major Astired, you earned it. I like the way you have dreamed good outcomes from Bush’s failed leadership.

As far as your "Bush gave the top percentage of those who benefit from our system money that we do not even have" Last time I checked, I was in the 28% federal tax bracket, add in state taxes, payroll taxes, sales tax, etc and about 50% of what I earn goes to the Government, in some places that would be usery. Stealing less of my money to waste on bridges in alaska and endowments for the arts is fine by me.

5% of FICA that is used for general tax purposes blame the democrats for that one, they controlled Congress until 1994, Al Gore and Clinton could have created a "lock box" too you know. But for you and many like you all bad things are Bush'e fault!

your heroes at the very top can escape; How?

Dear Major:

You wrote: “Last time I checked, I was in the 28% federal tax bracket, add in state taxes, payroll taxes, sales tax, etc and about 50% of what I earn goes to the Government, in some places that would be usury. I cannot see what you are clearly saying here. I am sure that smoke gets in my eyes.

The 5% of FICA is what George W. Bush’s socialized investment plan was going to use. He promised to have this put into safe investments in the market. Just think what that bit of socialism would do to our ability to invest in the market. ‘Twould make the old US governemtn the largest player in the game. How would you like to find a safe investment at a good price in that market?

That is a lot of money. Now I am sure that rather than you having Bush just not take it in the first place you would rather blame Democrats for it and let him socialize our economy. As you may have learned in command school, when the means of production is held by the government it is called socialism.

Far be it from me to suggest that Bush has ever made even one mistake. It is always other people. Makes one wonder that such a weak ninny could lead anything.

Now, as for you fairly paying your taxes, I can see that you did not mind feeding at the public trough for years, but do not want to pay up now. ‘Tis it better to suffer usury or to be a user? By the way, you were calling folks various names and I wondered what you would call Richard Armitage.

Feeding at the public trough? I'm confused, your hero Kerry has been feeding at the public trough for many more years but he gets a pass. Oh, I guess my mistake was not marrying 2 millionaire widows! That's one thing Ketchup boy should be proud of.

Read the book "Do as I Say" about liberal hypocracy. The same Kennedy that want to repeal the estate tax has trust funds/tax shelters in the far east!

A very highly decorated officer once told me, the Army doesn't give you anything, you earn it. I could have made a hell of alot more money in the civilian world but loved my country and my career.

Read Neal Boortz's "Fair Tax" book. No confusing tax forms, no IRS audits, you are taxed on what you spend, savings grow tax free, too bad it will never pass thanks to the wealth redistribution democrats.

50% of Americans pay no tax, some even get money because they just can't seem to earn enough (earned income tax credit) what's up with that? I'm tired of being penalized for success. Must read "Atlas Shrugged" some day.

Poor you Major, you are really touchy. As for earning it in the army, there were a hell of a lot of things we never get paid for—it just went with the duty.

As for your making more money in civilian life, you will never know. However, there is no need to second guess your career choice. Being a warrior is a noble profession.

As for paying taxes: Oliver Williams Homes said, “With my taxes I buy civilization.”

Too bad you feel penalized for your success. I never much been into the victim thing, and not into any of Rand’s fairytales. I have read them—I read all sorts of junk. Poor taste you might say.

It will be interesting to see what Jim Hart dose with the script for the movie. Maybe he will cast Hank Rearden as Jesus Christ and John Galt as the Holy Ghost. Of course, God Almighty will remain forever Ayn Rand.

You may think that a large number of people do not pay taxes, but an examination of the mechanics of our system should let you know that, like death, taxes really are inevitable. In point of fact, those who do the heavy lifting in our culture pay the most. This may not fit well with the prosperous victim fantasy, but ‘tis true.

When I was a young man, after you had made a million, you were working for the system. And in WWII, we had Dollar a Year Men in service to the war effort. They wanted to serve the system that was so good to them, and they did
