Animal medical center coming to FairburnMon, 03/20/2006 - 12:50pm
By: Ben Nelms
It’s another business planning to open its doors along Ga. Highway 74 in Fairburn. The proposed Animal Medical Clinic to be located just south of Black Jack Motorcycles received approval from Fairburn Planning & Zoning commissioners and will go before the City Council later this month. “Coming in from Tyrone it will be the first thing you see when you come into Fairburn,” said City Administrator Jim Williams. “It will be a nice professional building with good landscaping. We think this will be a superb entrance to the community.” Located on .73 acres, the building will total 4,144 square feet with space for an additional 1,500 square feet of office space. Parking will be located primarily on the west side fo the building facing Hwy. 74 and will accommodate 31 vehicles. The facility owner, Dr. Vince Obsitnik, operates a similar clinic in Peachtree City, one that Williams said is one of the nicer facilities in the community. “We do have a small animal hospital in Hwy. 74 in Peachtree City,” Obsitnik told commissioners. “And we look forward to having one here. I agree with Mr. Williams. I think it will be a great reflection on Fairburn, driving up and seeing a high quality building like that.” Obsitnik said the practice will be limited to the care of small animals. The property is zoned C-2 Commercial. A required 35-foot buffer will extend along Hwy. 74. login to post comments |
